Licensed VS. Unlicensed Merchandise

This weekend, I will talk more on this subject, and include some scans of things I have bought in the past, but for now, please read this:

Unlicensed products can (not always) be of extremely poor quality... especially dolls, trading cards, laminated posters, playing cards, etc... Buy licensed JP and NA items whenever possible. There will be less let-downs.

How do I tell the difference? Look for the silver TOEI sticker on JP products, read the descriptions carefully, and when in doubt ASK! Don't let the price fool you, JP merchandise is usually expensive, but the unlicensed products are often marked way up too. You will quickly get a feel for these things.

VIDEOS:
There are only 25 episodes available commercially (10 tapes - dubbed) in the US on VHS [click here to view].
All three movies: R, S, and SuperS, are now being released subtitled by Pioneer.
ALL the rest of the episodes must either be 1. watched on TV in NA 2. bought raw (un-subtitled/dubbed) from JP or 3. obtained from a fansubber. The fansubbers I have listed on my fansub page only charge you the price of the video tape, packaging, and postage. Please do not buy unlicensed subtitled videos that are being passed off as licensed merchandise. The whole "fansubbing" practice is unstable at best. When people start abusing it by selling these items retail, we are risking it blowing up in our faces, possibly making them completely unavailable to us in the future.
