Sorting Out Your Orientation: Social Consciousness vs Evolving Consciousness

Return to Consciousness Net

All of us at one time or another have to sit back and do a little self-analysis and figure out just what our personal orientation is, especially when faced with what seem to be impossible choices and problems. Very often, problems arise because of beliefs that one has accumulated, many of them arising from having been immersed in social consciousness. As one moves out of social consciousness and its perverse, mechanistic way of looking at the universe, one discovers more universally applicable ideas and more evolving perspectives that appear to function as a closer approximation to the way all reality structures really are. It is in this spirit that we provide a comparative chart that may help you sort out your orientation. The comparison is between (1) a static social consciousness and (2) an evolving consciousness that is proceeding on the journey of discovery. You can decide which elements might reflect where you are relative to each issue. The following comparative chart is (c) 1994/1995 Leading Edge Research Group, P.O. Box 7530, Yelm, Washington 98597. Again, the purpose of the chart is to stimulate thought and contemplation. Whether you agree or disagree with the examples is irrelevent.    It is an exercise.
