US Gets Access to Planetary Banking Data ‘The Bush administration gained sweeping access to international banking records as part of a classified program to choke off financial support for terrorism, government officials confirmed Thursday. Treasury Department officials said that they used broad subpoenas to collect the financial records from an international system known as Swift. Stuart Levey, Treasury's undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, called the subpoenas "a legal and proper use of our authorities." (See also variation below)

New Technology Disables Digital Cameras (A good reason to keep film cameras on hand) Georgia Institute of Technology scientists say they've created a prototype device that can block digital video cameras from working in a specific area. The scientists say the prototype -- which could be used to stymie unwanted use of video or still cameras -- uses off-the-shelf equipment to scan for, find and neutralize digital cameras. The system works by looking for the reflectivity and shape of the image-producing sensors used in digital cameras. Associate GIT Professor Gregory Abowd, who led the study, says the camera-neutralizing technology shows commercial promise in two principal fields -- protecting areas against espionage photography and stopping video copying. Researchers explain a digital camera's image sensor -- called a CCD -- sends light back directly to its origin rather than scattering it, making it relatively easy to detect and identify video cameras. Once a scanning laser and photo-detector located a video camera, the system would flash a thin beam of visible white light directly at the CCD, overwhelming the target camera with light and rendering recorded video unusable. A paper on the technology, which is still under development, was presented during the Ubicomp conference in Tokyo last September.
NASA Safety Chief Opposes July Launch of Space Shuttle NASA's top safety official objected to the agency's decision to press ahead with the launch of Discovery next month without fixing a potentially catastrophic foam-shedding problem, but said he won't appeal - and won't resign in protest - because he does not believe the shuttle astronauts' lives are in danger.
China Purchased US Spy Plane Technology from Israel A Chinese spy plane recently crashed near Nanjing "revealing details of a covert Chinese espionage effort to copy Israeli technology in an attempt to match the United States in any future air and sea battle," the Times Online is saying. 40 people were killed in the crash, 35 of them China's top electronic warfare experts. According to The Times report, it appears the spy technology the Chinese technicians were experimenting with was American-made, and they acquired it through Israel.

Genentech (UK) Blocks Release of Cheap Blindness Cure to Wait for Its 100X More Expensive Product Many Ophthalmologists around the world, on their own initiative, are injecting tiny quantities of a colon cancer drug called Avastin into the eyes of patients with wet macular degeneration, a common condition of older age that can lead to severely impaired eyesight and blindness. They report remarkable success at very low cost because one phial can be split and used for dozens of patients. But Genentech, the company that invented Avastin, does not want it used in this way. Instead it is applying to license a fragment of Avastin, called Lucentis, which is packaged in the tiny quantities suitable for eyes at a higher cost. Speculation in the US suggests it could cost £1,000 per dose instead of less than £10. The company says Lucentis is specifically designed for eyes, with modifications over Avastin, and has been through 10 years of testing to prove it is safe.
Government Orders 11 Huge Surveillance Blimps to Monitor the US By 2009 The government has hired defense subcontractor Lockheed Martin to design and develop an enormous blimp that will be used to spy on Americans, according to the Athens News. Government agencies such as the NSA are anticipating that as early as 2009 the blimp will be operational and begin supporting new ways of monitoring everything that happens in the country. A prototype of the blimp is already being developed at a cost of $40 million. The spy ship, called the High Altitude Airship, will be seventeen times larger than the Goodyear Blimp and hover 12 miles above the ground. Although it is very large it will be invisible to both the naked eye and ground radar because of its distance from the earth. Fuel economic and self sufficient, it will be powered by solar energy and will be able to fly for years at a time. The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command has already conducted a study to determine some of the uses of the spy ship. It has the capability of monitoring an area 600 miles in diameter at a time with surveillance equipment, such as high-resolution cameras. The government has ordered 11 of them – enough to monitor every parcel of land in the U.S.
Why A Global Economic Deluge Looms People who know the most about the world financial system are increasingly worried, and for very good reasons. Dire warnings are coming from the most "respectable" sources. Reality has gotten out of hand. The demons of greed are loose. What is that reality? It includes a number of factors. Alone they would be exceedingly serious; combined, they are very likely to be lethal.
Total Information Awareness Program Lives On The US Congress attempted to kill the ill-conceived Terrorist Information Awareness program in 2003. But instead, the Rasputin-like program -- designed to somehow find terrorists from a sky-high pile of credit card bills, car rental receipts and travel records -- came back, bigger and stronger and arguably worse than ever.
The Commission on Safety and Abuse in America's Prisons On any given day, 2.2 million people are incarcerated in the United States, and over the course of a year, many millions spend time in prison or jail. 750,000 men and women work in correctional facilities. The annual cost: more than 60 billion dollars. Yet within three years, 67 percent of former prisoners will be rearrested and 52 percent will be re-incarcerated. At this moment, the effectiveness of America's approach to corrections has the attention of policy makers at all levels of government and in both political parties.

However if you look closely, you can see that the wires aren't connected to anything, they are just draped over the cell phone and circuit board to create a pretty picture.

Mandatory Draft Bill Snuck In - To Be Debated on 6-6-6 This is the insane draft bill introduced by NY Democrat Charles Rangel in February 2006, called the H.R. 4752: Universal National Service Act of 2006, (Track Status of This Bill ) aiming at drafting everyone - men and women alike - from the ages of 18 to 42 into the military "for a minimum period of 2 years." Hillary Clinton is no doubt behind this, but it was politically correct for Rangel to put it on the table. Note that the bill provides for the abrupt removal of people in their prime career ages from the working economy, ruining lives, families and careers in a society that has firmly embraced an all-volunteer force for decades, further ruining the US economy and contributing to social chaos.

Japanese Scientists Build Novel Brain-Machine Interface Device Honda scientists have created a system that will translate thoughts into electrical signals that can be used to control machinery. The technique doesn't require the user to undergo surgery or extensive training - a major advance over past thought-controlled technologies, the company said. Researchers at the Honda Research Institute in co-operation with boffins from Japan's Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute dub the system the "Brain Machine Interface". Details of the rig itself remain sketchy, but the system reads "natural brain activity... for the near real-time operation of a robot".

Scientists Work on Photonic Visibility Shielding Technology Using Light Wave Resonance Nicolae Nicorovici and Graeme Milton propose that placing certain objects close to a material called a superlens could make them appear to vanish. It would rely on an effect known as "anomalous localised resonance". Superlens pioneer Sir John Pendry, of Imperial College London, said of the mathematicians' admission that "the cloaking effect works only at certain frequencies of light, so that some objects placed near the cloak might only partially disappear": "I believe their claims about the speck of dust and a certain class of objects. In the paper, they do give an instance about a particular shape of material they can't cloak. So they can't cloak everything."
Scientists Work on Photonic Visibility Shielding Technology Using Metamaterials Researchers in England and the United States think they know how to do that. They are laying out the blueprint and calling for help in developing the exotic materials needed to build a cloak, or really a shield. David R. Smith of Duke's Pratt School of Engineering is one of the invisibility shield's technological tailors. A cloak made with metamaterials, with a structure designed down to the submicroscopic scale, would neither reflect light nor cast a shadow. More information about metamaterials is available at http://www.ee.duke.edu/~drsmith.

The Storm Over The Israeli Lobby In their paper (the Web version runs eighty-two pages, forty of them footnotes), Mearsheimer and Walt argue that the centerpiece of US policy in the Middle East has been its unwavering support for Israel, and that this has not been in America's best interest. In their view, the "extraordinary generosity" the US showers on Israel— the nearly $3 billion in direct foreign assistance it provides every year, the access it gives Israel to "top-drawer" weapons like F-16 jets, the thirty-two UN Security Council resolutions critical of Israel that it has vetoed since 1982, the "wide latitude" it has given Israel in dealing with the occupied territories—all this "might be understandable if Israel were a vital strategic asset or if there were a compelling moral case for sustained US backing." In fact, they write, "neither rationale is convincing.

Panic Builds Up Behind America's Great Wall Call it the Great Wall of America. Last Wednesday, the Senate voted to add 370 miles of it to the US-Mexico border, together with another 500 miles of vehicle barriers. The vote wasn’t close: the wall passed by 83 votes to 16. At more than $3m a mile, the wall is a huge treasure opportunity for some American companies. And parts of it will have three layers of barrier. Just like Berlin in the old days — but stretching as far as the eye can see.

Impossible to Prove a Falsehood As True - Aircraft Parts As a Clue to Identity The government alleges that four wide-body airliners crashed on the morning of September 11 2001, resulting in the deaths of more than 3,000 human beings, yet not one piece of hard aircraft evidence has been produced in an attempt to positively identify any of the four aircraft. On the contrary, it seems only that all potential evidence was deliberately kept hidden from public view. The hard evidence would have included hundreds of critical time-change aircraft items, plus security videotapes that were confiscated by the FBI immediately following each tragic episode.

Global Food Supply Near Breaking Point Rising population, water shortages, climate change, and the growing costs of fossil fuel-based fertilisers point to a calamitous shortfall in the world's grain supplies in the near future, according to Canada's National Farmers Union (NFU). Thirty years ago, the oceans were teeming with fish, but today more people rely on farmers to produce their food than ever before, says Stewart Wells, NFU's president. In five of the last six years, global population ate significantly more grains than farmers produced. See article for more.

Why did Bush revoke Executive Order 13011 on May 12, 2006? Debate about Executive Order 13011 has never been resolved completely. It created an environment in which a massive information technology bureaucracy could be allowed to thrive, if only the government were so efficient/inefficient, depending on your individual point of view. There are many that argue that the Executive Order, in typical Executive Order elliptical phrasing, sets the stage for the kind of far-reaching and extensive gathering of intelligence data that the NSA is doing and that the Order further establishes the original "technical" mandate for secretive use of such gargantuan amounts of data.

Original Plans for 200 MPG Carburetor Found in England - Oil Industry Suppressed Plans The original blueprints for a device that could have revolutionized the motor car have been discovered in the secret compartment of a tool box. A carburetor that would allow a car to travel 200 miles on a gallon of fuel caused oil stocks to crash when it was announced by its Canadian inventor Charles Nelson Pogue in the 1930s.
How Safe Is Your Job if you work in the United States? For a number of years the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ monthly payroll jobs reports have been sending US policymakers dire warnings, only to be ignored. The March report repeats the message. Ninety-five percent of the new jobs created are in domestic services. The US economy no longer creates jobs in export or export-competitive sectors.
Mexican Military Stops CIA Plane from Venezuela With 5.5 tons of Cocaine in 128 suitcases Everyone knows the CIA has been involved with smuggling drugs. This, however, could suffice as a 'Noriega-style" precursor excuse for action against Venezuela's Hugo Chavez. Also of major significance is the fact that photos of the DC9, seized last Monday in Ciudad del Carmen, reveal that the plane is painted with the distinctive blue and white color color scheme of official U.S. Government planes. Moreover, to reinforce the effect, or subterfuge, the plane carries an official-looking Seal painted on its side, which reads: SKY WAY AIRCRAFT, PROTECTION OF AMERICA'S SKIES, around an image of a federal eagle clutching the familiar olive branch in its talons. Many have been fooled into concluding that the plane belongs to the U.S. Transportation Security Administration. This has obvious and highly serious national security implications, which go well beyond the obvious glee involved in playing political "gotcha" with people caught face-down with their noses buried, Tony Montana-style, in over five tons of cocaine.
Cocaine Aircraft Linked to Delay Appointee One of the two owners of the DC9 (tail number N900SA) busted at an airport in the Yucatan last week after lumbering in from Caracas, Venezuela carrying an astonishing 5.5 TONS of cocaine was appointed in 1993 to the Business Advisory Council of the National Republican Congressional Committee by then -Congressional Majority Leader Tom Delay. The plane's registered owner, “Royal Sons LLC,” a Florida air charter company, was at one time housed in a hanger at the Venice Fl. Airport owned by infamous flight school Huffman Aviation.

They will be compulsory and worse. An ID card will be different from a driving license or passport. It will be connected to a database called the NIR (National Identity Register), where your personal details will be stored. These will include your fingerprints, a scan of your iris, your residence status and unlimited other details about your life. If you fail to keep an appointment to be photographed and fingerprinted, you can be fined up to 2,500 pounds.

Israeli Student Discovers Advanced Search Algorithm Dubbed ORION The way we surf the Internet is about to change because of a new algorithm that a 26-year-old graduate student came up with after toiling for six months alone in a computer lab at a university in Sydney, news reports said Wednesday, March 12th. The new mathematical formula that governs how a search engine works is also going to revolutionise the life of Israeli-born Australian citizen Ori Allon, The Sydney Morning Herald reported. Google trumped American rivals Microsoft and Yahoo to get the rights to use Orion, an amalgam of the inventor’s name, and has spirited him off to its headquarters in California to protect its undisclosed investment. Orion is expected to become the key bit of code for the next generation of search engines. Orion hunts through pages related to a key word entered and returns sections of the pages. The user, therefore, need not go through the actual pages one by one. Allon said Orion would not totally do away with the need to go to other websites but would speed up the search process. “It could also result in the user going to more web pages since they will be alerted to other keywords related to their search.”

"Bird Flu" and Social Darwinism "Bird flu is one more tool in the arsenal of Globalist Malthusian social Darwinists who believe it is their destiny to act as guardians to Earth against the 'plague' of humanity and that brutal methods of population control are the only way to realize a new world order." UK 'Bird Flu Outbreak" Coincides with Outbreak Drill Just like with 9/11, 'staged-managed' manufactured crises are always paralleled by drills of the same nature. This provides culpable deniability if anyone is caught with their hands in the cookie jar. A consultancy agency with government and police connections was running an exercise for an unnamed company that revolved around the London Underground being bombed at the exact same times and locations as happened in real life on the morning of July 7th. The statistical probability of these two events coinciding was astronomical. The exercises provided cover in case government involvement in the attacks was proven, although after this website first brought wide attention to the drills on July 13th, that culpable deniability vanished. War games running on the morning of 9/11 simulated planes crashing into high visibility buildings on the US east coast. These drills were enough to confuse air traffic controllers about the real world nature of the actual hijacked planes thereby slowing response times and enabling them to find their targets. In addition, the exercises also provided culpable deniability.

Corporate Profits Soar to 40-Year High U.S. corporate profits have increased 21.3% in the past year and now account for the largest share of national income in 40 years, the Commerce Department said Thursday. Meanwhile, the share of national income going to wage and salary workers has fallen to 56.9%. Except for a brief period in 1997, that's the lowest share for labor income since 1966. "It's a big puzzle," said Josh Bivens, an economist for the Economic Policy Institute. "If this is a knowledge economy, how come the brains aren't being compensated? Instead, the owners of physical capital are getting the rewards."
