Lebanon army opens fire on Israeli jets [12/30/09] " Lebanese anti-aircraft guns have opened fire on four Israeli fighter planes that were violating airspace over the southern part of the country. "The army's anti-aircraft guns fired in the direction of four Phantom-type enemy Israeli planes that had been overflying the southeastern Hasbaya region at low altitude since Tuesday morning," an army spokesman told AFP. ..."  Note:  Israel appears to be spoiling for a fight, and doesn't seem much concerned as to precisely where that fight will be.

  US spies: Israel or UK forged nukes report on Iran [12/30/09] "U.S. intelligence has concluded that the document published recently by the Times of London, which purportedly describes an Iranian plan to do experiments on what the newspaper described as a "neutron initiator" for an atomic weapon, is a fabrication, according to a former Central Intelligence Agency official. Philip Giraldi, who was a CIA counterterrorism official from 1976 to 1992, told IPS that intelligence sources say that the United States had nothing to do with forging the document, and that Israel is the primary suspect. The sources do not rule out a British role in the fabrication, however. The Times of London story published Dec. 14 did not identify the source of the document. But it quoted "an Asian intelligence source" - a term some news media have used for Israeli intelligence officials - as confirming that his government believes Iran was working on a neutron initiator as recently as 2007. The story of the purported Iranian document prompted a new round of expressions of U.S. and European support for tougher sanctions against Iran and reminders of Israel's threats to attack Iranian nuclear programme targets if diplomacy fails. U.S. news media reporting has left the impression that U.S. intelligence analysts have not made up their mind about the document's authenticity, although it has been widely reported that they have now had a full year to assess the issue. Giraldi's intelligence sources did not reveal all the reasons that led analysts to conclude that the purported Iran document had been fabricated by a foreign intelligence agency. But their suspicions of fraud were prompted in part by the source of the story, according to Giraldi. "The Rupert Murdoch chain has been used extensively to publish false intelligence from the Israelis and occasionally from the British government," Giraldi said. The Times is part of a Murdoch publishing empire that includes the Sunday Times, Fox News and the New York Post. All Murdoch-owned news media report on Iran with an aggressively pro-Israeli slant ..."

Obama Vows ‘Accelerated Offensive’ in Yemen [12/30/09] "With the scent of terrorism in the air, President Obama will likely be able to parlay the lap bomber into a justification for anything and everything he might want. Officials are already talking of scrapping plans to close Guantanamo Bay over it, and America’s role in the attempted assassination of US-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki last week can now readily be justified on speculation that the bomber’s alleged al-Qaeda links can be combined with Awlaki’s alleged al-Qaeda links to form alleged links between the two. Of course, the Awlaki assassination bid and the US attacks on Yemen have been going on since before a Nigerian set his lap on fire on an airplane, and we’re only now starting to get the full extent of the war in Yemen the Obama Administration is already covertly fighting. ..."

"Terror cell" busted in Yemen last month had links with an Israeli intelligence agency [12/29/09] "... A terrorist cell busted in Yemen last month after a suicide attack on the US embassy there had links with an Israeli intelligence agency, the state-run Saba news agency reported. The report, quoting an unnamed source, said investigations and data retrieved from a computer seized from the cell, showed there was correspondence between the Islamic Jihad group’s deputy leader Bassam Abdullah Fadhel Al-Haidari and an Israeli intelligence agency. Saba quoted the source as saying that the correspondence between the two sides included a request from the Israeli side to implement terrorist attacks inside Yemen.  Remember the attack on the U.S. embassy in Yemen last month that took the lives of eighteen people? A group calling themselves “Islamic Jihad” claimed responsibility for the blast. It has a nice, scary ring to it hasn’t it? “Islamic Jihad” also happens to be the name of a group that operates out of Gaza. “Islamic Jihad” pointedly mentioned its affiliation with al Qaeda after claiming responsibility for the September 17 U.S. embassy bombing: “We, the Organisation of Islamic Jihad, belonging to the Al-Qaeda network, repeat our demand of (Yemeni President) Ali Abdullah Saleh to free our detained brothers within 48 hours,” said a statement signed by self-proclaimed leader Abu Ghaith al-Yamani. Former agent for French military intelligence Pierre-Henry Bunel has this to say about ‘al Qaeda’: “The truth is, there is no Islamic army or terrorist group called Al Qaeda. And any informed intelligence officer knows this. But there is a propaganda campaign to make the public believe in the presence of an identified entity representing the ‘devil’ only in order to drive the ‘TV watcher’ to accept a unified international leadership for a war against terrorism…” Well now the Yemeni authorities have arrested a group of these al Qaeda-backed militants with, surprise surprise, links to Israeli intelligence."  

The Lap Bomber Mystery: A case that just gets curiouser and curiouser [12/29/09] by Justin Raimondo "It just wouldn’t be Christmas in the age of terror if we didn’t have a visitation, ostensibly from al-Qaeda, now would it? ‘Tis the season, and all that. Recall Richard Reid, the "shoe bomber," arrested on December 22, 2001, for trying to blow up American Airlines flight 63, coming into Miami from Paris. As in the current case involving one Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab, a 23-year-old Nigerian, the explosive used was PETN, also known as pentaerythritol: Reid, like Umar, was subdued by passengers and airline attendants, and, to add yet another touch of déjà vu, Reid’s stunt led to the imposition of the take-off-your-shoes rule at airport security, just as Umar’s midair antics have now inspired the Transportation Safety Authority to inaugurate a spate of new regulations: nothing in your lap, please, and no getting up from your seat for a solid hour before landing. ... Also please note the timing: the Reid incident occurred at a volatile moment, right after the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, and just as the Bush administration was ramping up to invade both Afghanistan and Iraq. Numerous sub-stories, links and notes.  We are asked to believe that a highly privileged young man, with everything to live for, was suddenly seized with a desire to commit suicide as an act of jihad: that he disappeared from his life of ease, on a street lined with Mercedes Benzes and Ferraris, in a fashionable district of London, and traveled to Yemen, where he received what may have been a defective bomb, which was sewn into his underwear by his jihadist trainers. This bomb then went undetected in Amsterdam airport, where the security arrangements are said to be tight (and a personal interview is conducted), and where he was let on a plane headed for the US in spite of explicit warnings given by his own father.

Hamas condemns Israeli escalation, vows to reactivate armed resistance [12/28/09] "The Palestinian Islamic Hamas movement Saturday condemned Israeli troops' killing of six Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, and called for reactivating the armed attacks against Israel. Sami Abu Zuhri, Hamas spokesman in Gaza, said in a press statement sent to reporters that "the crime of killing six Palestinians is purely a war crime," adding "this crime urges all Palestinian factions to reactivate armed resistance against the occupation and its crimes in the West Bank and Gaza." ..."  Note: this is precisely the reaction Israel wants in order to justify "Cast Lead 2".

Israeli Intel Operation: Nigerian man ' attempted' to ' blow up US airliner'  [12/27/09] "The FBI probed Saturday an attempt to blow up a US airliner landing in Detroit as British police raided premises linked to the Nigerian suspect and airport security was stepped up worldwide. Questions mounted over how the suspect, identified in the US as Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab, managed to sneak an incendiary device past airport security in Lagos and Amsterdam. Dutch authorities said he was carrying a valid US visa. Abdulmutallab confessed once in custody that he had mixed a syringe full of chemicals with powder taped to his leg to try and blow up the Airbus A330 from Amsterdam, according to senior officials quoted by US media. The Christmas Day attack, which sparked alarm and fear among the 278 passengers aboard the Northwest Airlines flight, had echoes of British-born Richard Reid's botched "shoe-bomb" attempt almost eight years ago to the day. ..."  Note:  The Israeli-owned company ICTS provides enhanced airline security services for over 200 carriers at over 65 European locations. ICTS provides specialised services to US carriers at 36 European locations, - servicing more than 150 flights each day in compliance with the procedures of the US Transport Security Administration (TSA), local regulators and of the airlines. ICTS is the main security vendor for the European operations of Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. We are also the sole provider of security services at all of American Airlines’ and US Airways European stations. ICTS provides security at Amsterdam airport. People are already asking how Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab was able to get onto an airplane in Amsterdam bound for Detroit with a bomb strapped to his leg when the Amsterdam airport uses the full-body "see your naked butt" scanners. ICTS, owned by an Israeli, Ezra Harel, and registered in the Netherlands, was employed at Charles de Gaulle airport to screen passengers boarding US planes. Most of its personnel are ex-Shin Bet officers. The company covers security at Boston's Logan airport, where the American Airlines plane came down after flight attendants and passengers overpowered Reid." ICTS knew shoe bomber Richard Reid was dangerous, but allowed him on board a flight from Tel Aviv to Paris. Maybe they did and maybe they didn't. But the idea that an Israeli owned company had inside access to the airport used to launch an abortive terror attack brought to mind the strange message Odigo Systems, another Israeli owned company with offices near the World Trade Towers, received that warned of the impending attacks before the hijacked planes had even left the ground. The scan outlines body contours, making it easy for security personnel to see if anyone is carrying weapons or smuggling money or drugs. Airport authorities said the scan was quicker and better than body searches. To ensure privacy, the images from the scan are analysed by a security attendant in a separate room. The face of the person is also blurred to avoid recognition. Schiphol put two such scanning machines into operation Tuesday and another 15 are set to follow. For the present, passengers can choose between the body scan or regular controls, which sometimes include being frisked. ..."  Note:  So they HAD to let this Nigerian through knowing that he's a patsy. Has the Shin Bet Infiltrated International Airports?   "South Africa deported an Israeli airline official last week following allegations that Israel’s secret police, the Shin Bet, had infiltrated Johannesburg international airport in an effort to gather information on South African citizens, particularly black and Muslim travellers. The move by the South African government followed an investigation by local TV showing an undercover reporter being illegally interrogated by an official with El Al, Israel’s national carrier, in a public area of Johannesburg’s OR Tambo airport. ..."  Israeli agents operating at international airports   "The report claims black and Muslim travellers are being subjected to illegal interrogations and strip searches by Israeli intelligence service, the Shin Bet, who are purportedly employed as security guards by Israeli airline El Al, but pose as officials of airport security. ..."  Note:  ICTS handled security at Logan International Airport, during 9-11.  ICTS' own web site confirms that ICTS is in fact an Israeli owned company, and that it sells services to every airport from which the " hijacked planes operated", including security, sometimes through wholly owned subsidiaries like Huntleigh USA Corporation. Hours before the House version of the first Patriot Act went to a vote, "technical corrections" were inserted into the body of the legislation whereby foreign security companies such as ICTS-International would be immune from lawsuits related to the events of 9/11. Talk about not being available for deposition! This "Patriot" act legislative sleight of hand occurred before the inception of the 9/11 Commission when Fearless Leader George W. Bush was still resisting the very IDEA of an investigation into 9/11. Hence, in the face of an institutional cover-up, citizens were denied the possibility of a discovery process which is normally afforded to litigants. Without such discovery process, ICTS-International would never be compelled by a court of law to give testimony and show evidence related to the missing airport video surveillance tapes of 9/11 or any other aspect of security measures in place on 9/11.  Flight 253 passenger: Sharp-dressed man aided terror suspect Umar Farouk Abdul Mutallab onto plane without passport  [12/27/09] "While Mutallab was poorly dressed, his friend was dressed in an expensive suit, Haskell said. He says the suited man asked ticket agents whether Mutallab could board without a passport. “The guy said, 'He's from Sudan and we do this all the time.'” Mutallab is Nigerian. Haskell believes the man may have been trying to garner sympathy for Mutallab's lack of documents by portraying him as a Sudanese refugee. ..."   “I don’t understand how he had a valid visa if he was known on the terror watch list.” [12/28/09] "The revelation of Abdulmutallab’s background has confounded terror experts. Dr Magnus Ranstorp of the Center for Asymmetric Threat Studies at the Swedish National Defence College said that the attempted bombing “didn’t square”. “On the one hand, it seems he’s been on the terror watch list but not on the no-fly list,” he said. “That doesn’t square because the American Department for Homeland Security has pretty stringent data-mining capability. Who is this loser's travel agent?  US knew of terror suspect for two years  "An official briefed on the attack on a Detroit airliner said Saturday the U.S. has known for at least two years that the suspect in the attack could have terrorist ties. ..."   Nigerian man was in terror database  "A Nigerian man charged Saturday with attempting to blow up a U.S. airliner on Christmas Day was listed in a U.S. terrorism database ..."  Note: Yes, and he didn't even have a passport, and Israeli security put him on the plane. And who was the "sharply dressed" man who talked the security gate into letting him on board the plane without a passport? And more to the point, what position did this "sharply dressed" man hold that the airport gate personnel acceded to his wishes?   More on this case

The meeting to be attended in Jerusalem Al-Quds on December 27-31 is hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed by Deputy Prime Minister and (former nightclub bouncer) Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, the ministry reported on its website. "The idea is to facilitate direct dialogue with the country's leaders, mutual updates on major diplomatic issues, and a discussion of action plans to deal with the challenges awaiting Israel in the international arena in the coming year, including the Iranian threat," it said. This is while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has called a report by the UN Human Rights Council's Gaza commission a real threat to Israel. The UN Special Rappoteur for the occupied Palestinian Territories has also urged western powers to push Israel to end its blockade of the Gaza Strip immediately. Richard Falk also called for economic sanctions against Israel. This is the first time a conference for all of Israel's heads of missions has been held. Benyamin Netanyahu will also attend the conference along with Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Minister of Intelligence and Atomic Energy Dan Meridor, and other senior officials.  ..."  Note: Something is up . 

Commentary: Bloodshed In Gaza and Beyond–Israel’s National Orgasm [12/26/09] ".... I remember first hearing it in college, and while initially I recoiled somewhat at the base, crass language used in expressing it, after considering it intellectually was forced to concede the undeniable truth contained in it– “A hard dick has no conscience…” ..... short of a few aberrations here and there–there isn’t a peep of protest to be heard from within the Jewish community, and for the simple reason expressed at the beginning of this essay concerning the physical characteristics of a certain male appendage. The word–both from within the Jewish state and throughout the Diaspora is that what is taking place is, well, “simply splendid”. Other hallelujahs such as “fantastic” and “great” and “long-overdue” have been belched out in various news stories the last few weeks as well and absent those there are the now-infamous still photos to consider–Israeli troops holding hands in that great big “circle of love” and dancing the Hora just prior to the forced penetration of Gaza…The pics of Israeli teenagers, sitting on their lawn chairs from an elevated position with cokes in hand and smiles on their wretched faces, giggling and gawking as they watch the slaughter in Gaza take place a few miles away as if they were peeping-tom voyeurs at the Roman coliseum watching Christians being fed to the lions or gladiators hacking one another to pieces. And the “enthusiasm” expressed by the Jewish community as a whole is not just of the average, ordinary, run-of-the-mill brand, manifesting itself in slight smiles and nods of approval by those concerned. Rather, it is loud, ecstatic, orgasmic and orgiastic, so much so that it is disconcerting to the rest of the peaceful, peaceable world trying to concentrate on whatever the business at hand happens to be at the moment. And the reason for this display, this exhibitionism on the part of Jewish interests is simple–it (meaning the carnage in Gaza) is exactly as it appears–an orgy of religiously/culturally inspired violence, the celebration of which is Israel’s national orgasm. ..."  Note: The sequentials in Israel are having a heyday. 

Israeli Foreign Ministry Has Thought Control Office in US administration: blasts Israel envoy's 'unfortunate' J-Street remarks [12/26/09] " ....Remarks by Israel's ambassador to the United States, Michael Oren, against the liberal Jewish lobby J Street were "most unfortunate" according to Hannah Rosenthal, head of the U.S. administration's "Office to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism" . In an interview with Haaretz in Jerusalem, where Rosenthal was the administration's envoy to the Foreign Ministry's ( Avigdor Lieberman) " Global Forum for Combating Anti-Semitism", Rosenthal, who once served on J street's board of directors, said she opposes blurring the lines between anti-Semitism and criticism of Israel ..."

A UN human rights expert on Wednesday condemned a "tragic failure" by major powers to end Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip or probe alleged war crimes committed during a military offensive one year ago. ..."  

Bahar: Egypt’s wall signals new Israeli attack on Gaza [12/24/09] "Palestinian Legislative Council member Ahmad Bahar called for an urgent meeting between all parliamentary blocks on Wednesday to discuss the consequences of the Egyptian wall being built along Gaza's southern border. "The construction of Egypt's wall is a sign of an impending attack on Gaza by Israel," Bahar said. The wall, 10 kilometers long and 24 meters deep, will run along the Gaza-Egypt border, and aims to cut off the passage into Egypt of hundreds of smuggling tunnels which have been for two years Gaza's lifeline as Israel's siege continues... ..."

Israel harvested organs without permission, officials say [12/23/09] "Israel harvested organs from bodies in the 1990s without permission of family members, the former head of a state-run forensic laboratory said in a newly released interview. Government officials acknowledge that the practice happened, but emphasize that it ended years ago. In an interview in 2000, which was released to an Israeli TV channel and broadcast over the weekend, Dr. Yehuda Hiss -- who was once head of the Abu Kabir forensic institute -- discussed the practice. "We started to harvest corneas for various hospitals in Israel," Hiss said in the interview on Israel's Channel 2 network. "Whatever was done was highly informal. No permission was asked from the families," he said. Hiss said the harvesting also included heart valves, skin and bones. He was speaking to an American researcher, who recently gave the tape to the Israeli network. An Israeli Ministry of Health spokeswoman, Einav Shimron-Grinboim, issued a statement saying the practice discussed in the report was "an old story that ended years ago" and that in the vast majority of cases, the actions were done to Israelis, including soldiers. Procedures were not clear at the time and have since been clarified, she said. None of the practices led to charges, she said. The report said organs were at times also harvested from Palestinians and foreign workers. ..."   

Israel to seek another 1b euros Holocaust in reparations from Germany  [12/23/09] "Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz will demand between 450 million to 1 billion euros in reparations from Germany on behalf of Jews forced into slave labor during the Holocaust, it emerged on Sunday. Minister Steinitz will reportedly present German government with the demand on behalf of 30,000 Israeli survivors of forced labor in wartime ghettos, during a joint session scheduled to take place in early 2010 in Berlin. Israeli officials estimate that according to a ghetto workers act passed by the German parliament in 2002, all of the 30,000 living forced labor survivors are entitled to a retroactive payment of approximately 15,000 euros each.  ..."  Note:  No, they are not. It was their experiential path ... and the people who held them, at the top, were German Jews.

Obama grants Israel billions of dollars in aid [12/20/09] "US President Barack Obama has signed the foreign aid budget law for 2010 which includes the granting of $2.775 billion in security aid to Israel. The Israeli Ynet news website reported that the budget signed by Obama, for the first time, also grants $500 million to the Palestinian Authority. The aid also includes $100 million to be used by US General Keith Dayton, who is in charge of training the Palestinian security forces in the West Bank. ..."  Note:  And that $100 million for the use of US General Keith Dayton, in charge of training the Palestinian Security Forces in the West Bank? As reported on 18 December, "Palestinian security agents who have been detaining and allegedly torturing supporters of Hamas in the West Bank have been working closely with the CIA, the Guardian reports. Human rights activists say the abuses would end promptly if US pressure was brought to bear on the Palestinian authorities. A diplomat in the region said "at the very least" US intelligence officers were aware of the torture and not doing enough to stop it." This is a tactic much beloved by the IDF, to keep Fatah and Hamas from ever reconciling, and that is why the CIA is continuing to torture Hamas members. Israeli Settlers pour their sewerage water into the West Bank [12/18/09] "The Israeli information center for human rights in the occupied territories, B'Tselem, said in a report on Wednesday that the Israeli settlements discharge their sewage water into West Bank valleys and villages. The report said that the settlements produce around 17.5 million cubic meters of sewage water per annum, adding that they represent the refuse of 80 settlements out of a total of 112 in the West Bank. Meanwhile, settlers south of Nablus started expanding their settlement at the expense of Bruin village lands under the very eyes of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) that did nothing to stop them despite the Israeli government's decision to halt construction in settlements for ten months ..."

Israel: Women’s Group Tells Livni to Turn Herself In [12/16/09] "The Women’s Coalition for Peace sent a letter on Wednesday to Israel’s former Foreign Minister, Tzipi Livni, calling on her to cooperate with international investigations into her role in the assault on Gaza last winter, after a British court issued an warrant for her arrest on Monday. The Israeli organization wrote in the letter, which was attached to a translated copy of the Goldstone report on alleged war crimes in Gaza, “We are convinced that if you refer to the report you will understand why British citizens and organizations have turned to the courts with a request to issue a warrant for your arrest ..."

Note: The mental level where these people are operating is so infantile. They want to control the MIND of everyone around them an DEFINE the nature of reality for others. Austria: Genocide Charges against Ehud Barak  [12/16/09] "Yesterday, at almost the same time when Ehud Barak was being given military honors at the defense ministry, genocide charges against him were being presented at the office of the Austrian prosecutor, only about 15 minutes walking away. The charges relate entirely to the Gaza massacre committed between December 2008 and January 2009 by Israeli troops under the command of Ehud Barak, and the whole allegation of crimes in the letter to the prosecutor consists of the so-called “Goldstone Report” itself, and it names as witnesses the members of the commission, judge Goldstone and his colleagues, as well as their interview partners. At the time when these charges were being presented, the news that an arrest warrant had been issued against Tzipi Livni in the UK had not yet transcended; this only became known 000_9425ain the evening hours, and as of today 15 December, it appears that the Austrian authorities have not taken action against Barak. This could have different grounds. First, the situation of Livni and Barak are different: whereas Livni currently has no function in government, Barak is currently defense minister and vice-premier; secondly, Austria is still apprehended in the notion that they have a political and moral duty to ensure the security of Israel, whatever Israel does and probably at any cost to Austria, because of understandable yet irrelevant historical facts, third, England has implemented the Rome Statute of the ICC as a national law, whereas this is not the case in Austria yet. Palestinian Man Prevented By Jewish Municipality From Building On His Own Land [12/16/09] "Aadel Suad, a Palestinian resident of the town of Mitzpe Ramon in southern Israel, has been prevented for twelve years from building on his own land, and continues to live in a temporary shack with his family. When Suad first applied for a permit to build a home in 1997, he says a senior official told him “Don’t waste your time. We’ll keep you waiting for 30 years.” He said that they made the reason very clear: they do not want Palestinians in their otherwise all-Jewish town. According to Suad, “”We didn’t invade the plot and we didn’t take over the land. My grandfather has been here since the Turks. We have a land registry document proving ownership of three acres.” The Israeli town of Mitzpe Ramon was founded in 1979 on formerly Palestinian land. Most of the former Palestinian residents were displaced, but Aadel Suad managed to hold onto the land that had been in his family for generations. The new municipality then redefined his land as a ‘development area’, and split his plot into two parts. He was allowed to remain on his land with his family, but prevented him from building a home. The municipality repeatedly attempted to push him off his land and into another area of southern Israel, but he refused to accept the illegal confiscation of his land. Now, after finally receiving his construction permit in 2007, he has again been refused the ability to build on his land, with the excuse that there is no sewage line in the area. Suad told reporters of the most recent denial, “It’s clear that the threat I heard in 1997 is coming true. They don’t want us here. But I’ll keep fighting until my children and I live on our private land.” ..."   Note: More of the worst levied by mentally disturbed sequentials. 

US Army Installs Gaza Monitoring System [12/16/09] "Egypt’s plan to build an underground wall along its border with Gaza, first exposed by the Israeli daily Haaretz, is the second of two initiatives backed by the US military, informed sources said. In recent months, US army engineers have moved forward on a two-phase, multimillion-dollar project to stop the flow of weapons and money into the besieged coastal strip. The first stage of the initiative includes the installation of below-ground, state-of-the-art sensors capable of detecting sound or movement nearby, Ma’an has learned. US experts began the process about one year ago, and it is nearing completion. The sensors are about the size of a human fist, planted below Rafah with cables running inside pipes 15 meters deep along the borderline. Each sensor is linked to an electronic panel and a computer screen, which documents below-ground activity. Whenever movement or sound is detected nearby, the sensors send details about the location and dimensions of its source to a special security system. Four US military engineers are responsible for monitoring these sensors and analyzing activity to differentiate between new digging or everyday goods smuggling. In all cases, US forces have kept the Israeli side informed about any detected movement, despite that the entire operation is conducted on Egyptian soil. Israel and Egypt have maintained a debilitating blockade on Gaza since Hamas took over in 2007, preventing all but a trickle of imports and exports, and banning the coastal enclave’s 1.5 million residents from traveling. Palestinians have resorted to building a vast network of underground smuggling tunnels, providing Gazans with a variety of banned commercial goods. American assistance has been instrumental in Egypt’s management of the siege. Egyptian security sources say authorities are aware of nearly 1,300 underground tunnels, of which 450 were taken over this year. ..." 

Police Shoot U.S. Student’s Laptop Upon Entry To Israel [12/16/09] ".... Sussman said that she then heard an announcement on the loudspeaker. “It was something along the lines of, ‘Do not to be alarmed by gunshots because the Israeli security needs to blow up suspicious passenger luggage,’” she wrote on her blog. Moments later a man came to her and introduced himself as the manager on duty. “I’m sorry but we had to blow up your laptop,” Sussman said he told her. “The security officers did not ask about my laptop prior to shooting it,” Sussman told Daily News Egypt. “They used the word ‘blew up’ when they told me they destroyed my laptop. I don’t know why they shot it.” Sussman said the guards also looked through the photos saved on her camera, flipped through her journal and asked her about a map a friend had drawn for her that pointed out a main street, central bus station and the hostel where she was planning on stayig in Jerusalem. She added that she had also been carrying an Arabic phrasebook, stamps from Syria, Qatar and the UAE and a Palestinians in Palestine guidebook. The Israel Airports Authority said in response to the story: “A check that the lady’s luggage underwent raised an indication that required security figures to act according to procedures. A police, who carried out the stated operation, was called to the scene. We suggest that the Israel Police be approached for any additional information.” Sussman managed to salvage the hard and guards gave her an address where she would be reimbursed for her mangled laptop, she told Daily news Egypt. “I’m going through the process of compensation,” she said. “It supposedly will take about one month to receive the money.” ..."   

"By Order Of Mr. God": Israeli cruelty to people is off the charts [12/16/09] "When the news is compelling, newspapers report it, of course, although most of the time in a distorted way. At minimum, the distortion consists of treating the Palestinian tragedy as a conflict between more or less equal sides. And they refer to that tragedy, the tragedy of a whole people, the suffering of Palestinians, as the Israeli-Palestinian “conflict.” I once published a piece on the topic at Rebelión. The media, for instance, have not informed their readers that the looting of Palestinian homes by the Israeli army is a daily matter. Every day, groups of soldiers patrol the streets of cities and towns and burst into homes, breaking TVs and other appliances, furniture, ripping up pictures, throwing clothes on the floor. Their excuse is that they “suspect” that terrorists are being hidden there. And very often they even find them, because, in theory, for Israelis all Palestinians are terrorists. There is no doubt that this behavior is part of a continuous maneuver to wear down all moral resistance, to physically and mentally exhaust the Palestinians so that those who don’t want to be stacked in jails or cemeteries flee and go to live crammed together with others in refugee camps. ..."   

Commentary: ADL Supremacist by its own definition [12/14/09] "Foxman says that the UN's declaration that Zionism is racism is anti-Semitic, however the UN in general is opposed to national sovereignty. Since the majority of the world has a negative view towards Israel and the US, the UN will reflect it. I am no supporter of the UN because I believe in national sovereignty and am opposed to international bodies dictating the policies of nation states, however the ADL is hypocritical about its stance since it opposes European Nationalism as racism, and strongly criticizes any US politician that takes a strong stance on immigration, complains about demographic change, or talks about America having a Christian heritage, despite the fact that the ADL supports Israel's Government declaring the Nation as a Jewish State. They have taken many other hypocritical positions. The best example is on the issue of genocide. The ADL's Abe Foxman said that "the Holocaust is something different. It is a singular event. It is not simply one example of genocide but a near successful attempt on the life of God's chosen children and thus, on God Himself. It is an event that is the antithesis of Creation as recorded in the Bible; and like it's direct opposite, which is relived weekly with the Sabbath and yearly with Torah, it must be remembered from generation to generation" He basically admits that he thinks one group of people's lives have more value and therefore was a greater tragedy than other genocides. However the ADL was opposed to the US Congress's amendment to acknowledge the Armenian Genocide saying, "we continue to firmly believe that a Congressional resolution on such matters is a counterproductive diversion and will not foster reconciliation between Turks and Armenians and may put at risk the Turkish Jewish community and the important multilateral relationship between Turkey, Israel and the United States ..."  Note:  The ADL actually consists of one (1) person, Abe Foxman. 

Secret but not forgotten - Israel's facility 1391 [12/13/09] "In May of this year, the United Nations Committee Against Torture bought up the issue of Facility 1391, a clandestine Israeli prison where Palestinian, Lebanese, and other Arab prisoners are detained and subjected to torture. The committee called upon Israel to grant the International Committee of the Red Cross access to this prison and demanded to know if there were other secret prisons in Israel. The existence of Facility 1391 came to light in 2002, purely by accident. An Israeli human rights group, Hamoked, which provides assistance to Palestinian prisoners, demanded to know where Bashar and Mohammed Jadallah, two Palestinian cousins who could not be traced by their families after their arrest by the Israeli army, were being held. The Israeli authorities were forced to admit that they were in a secret prison. The location of that prison 
was also discovered accidentally a short time later. In 2003, Gad Kroizer, an Israeli historian, was researching old police buildings from the time of the British Mandate, when he came across a 70 year old map displaying 62 such buildings. He discovered that one of the buildings shown, called Meretz, could not be seen on any modern Israeli maps, and was not referred to in any of the literature relating to Israeli security compounds. He soon put two and two together. The Israeli authorities had done a thorough job in wiping away any trace of the facility from maps. It is however, visible on Google Earth today. The facility is located near the town of Pardes Hanna-Karkur. The coordinates are 32°28'11.93"N 35° 1'20.74"E. The facility is inside a military base controlled by Unit 504, a secret unit of the Intelligence Corps which is responsible for gathering "human intelligence" outside Israel. This unit runs a network of collaborators in Lebanon and Facility 1391 started out as a detention centre for prisoners captured or kidnapped by the Israelis in Lebanon in the 1980s.  ..."    

"The Hannibal Procedure": Israel Encourages Its Own Suicide Bombers [12/12/09] "The fatal shooting by Israeli soldiers of an Israeli man earlier this week as he tried to scale a fence into the Gaza Strip was reportedly part of a drastic procedure the army was supposed to have phased out several years ago. The Israeli media reported that Yakir Ben-Melech, 34, had bled to death after he was shot under the "Hannibal procedure," designed to prevent Israelis from being taken captive alive by enemy forces. One critic, Uri Avnery, a former Israeli legislator and leader of Gush Shalom, a small radical peace group, defined the procedure as meaning: "Liberate the soldier by killing him." The controversial directive, which was once one of the army’s best-kept secrets, was drafted more than 20 years ago after the Israeli government had come under domestic pressure to release hundreds of enemy prisoners for the return of three captured soldiers.  ..."  

Surprising Results of CFR Survey: What the U.S. Elite Really Thinks About Israel  [12/12/09] "The survey of CFR members taken by the Pew Research Center has exposed a surprising breach between the views of the U.S. power elite and the public when it comes to international politics. The CFR members do not perceive Israel as an ally nor they consider Iran as an enemy, whereas the public essentially adheres to the neo-conservatist and AIPAC mindset. What can be concluded from the answers to questions that dealt with the Israel-Palestine conflict is that the general public forms its opinions from what it hears and reads in the mainstream media which are largely biased towards Israel while CFR members have greater access to as well as interest in obtaining more accurate information and are less susceptible to pro-Israel propaganda. That apparently not a single US newspaper saw fit to report on the opinions of CFR members, under those circumstances, is not surprising. The evidence  ..."

Israel closes sole oil and gas terminal on Gaza border [12/07/09] "The population of the Gaza Strip is facing an acute cooking gas shortage this winter, after a unilateral Israeli decision in October to permanently close the sole oil and gas terminal between the coastal Palestinian territory and the Jewish state. The Nahal Oz crossing has been shut down for "security reasons," an official with the Israeli coordination office for the Gaza Strip said, adding that it will only act as "a backup" when the Kerem Shalom crossing in the south is too congested... ..."  Note:  I know what's probably going to happen. Israel will attack Iraq, and in the process, deliberately wipe out Gaza, saying that the Iranians attacked it. If everyone there is dead, no one will be around to say otherwise.

Goldstone Receives Human Rights Award [12/06/09] "Running counter to Israeli wishes, which by definition is counter to the U.S. government’s wishes and oddly enough completely inline with virtually all of the world’s major human rights groups across the globe, an alliance of international lawyers have honored Judge Goldstone for his humanitarian efforts. That’s right; Richard Goldstone has been awarded the Stockholm Human Rights Award for “an outstanding contribution to promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.” Turns out that Judge Goldstone is actually the first ever recipient of the Stockholm Human Rights Award and he is being recognized and honored for his “extraordinary career” in human rights. He was always an outspoken critic of apartheid in South Africa, a lead prosecutor in several United Nations war crime tribunals, and of course the author of the recent Goldstone Report on war crimes that were committed in Gaza against the Palestinians. The Stockholm Human Rights Award was recently presented to Judge Goldstone by the president of the Swedish Bar Association in Sweden. The award is given out by the International Legal Assistance Consortium, the Swedish Bar Association and the International Bar Association. ..."

After being detained and transported to the prison wearing hoods, prisoners said they were told they were "in Honolulu," "outside the borders of Israel," or "on the moon," the newspaper said. In interviews with the Israeli and foreign press, former prisoners have also reported cases of rape, prolonged nudity, and tactics regarded as torture. An August 13, 1984 secret communication from the FBI Washington Field Office (WFO) to the FBI director states, "WFO files disclose that AIPAC is a powerful pro-Israel lobbying group staffed by U.S. citizens. WFO files contain an unsubstantiated allegation that a member of the Israeli Intelligence Service was a staff member of AIPAC." UN body endorses Goldstone report [11/06/09] "The United Nations General Assembly has adopted a UN-sponsored report which says Israel committed war crimes during last winter's military assault on the Gaza Strip. The Goldstone report, which accuses both Israel and Hamas of war crimes, has already been endorsed by the UN Human Rights Council, which sponsored the fact-finding commission. The General Assembly on Thursday voted by a margin of 114 to 18 to adopt the report after debating it for two days... ...Forty-four member-nations abstained from voting. The report calls on both Israel and the Palestinians to investigate accusations of human-rights violations during the 22-day conflict in December and January. The debate at the General Assembly, which began on Wednesday, was called for by the Arab UN group, with the backing of the 118-member Non-Aligned Movement (Nam)."  Note: Guess who isn't happy about that.

Why Does AIPAC Spy on Americans? [11/06/09] "According to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Steven J. Israel proposes 'work camps' for illegal migrants [11/06/09] "The government is considering establishing work camps in the south of the country, where illegal migrant workers will receive shelter, food and medical care, Army Radio reported Wednesday. In exchange, illegal migrants would perform manual labor outside the camps, but would not earn a salary. They would stay at the camp until their asylum claims are decided, which could take months or years. The proposal, part of the effort to address the problems posed by illegal migrants, would place asylum seekers at jobs in communities in the Negev and Arava. Their salaries would go to the state, in order to fund the camps....."  Note: Sounds like concentration camps to me.

Israeli military attacks and takes over Iranian ship [11/05/09] "An Iranian ship was attacked in international waters in the Mediterranean Sea by the Israeli navy early on Wednesday morning, while apparently on its way to Lebanon. ... According to Israeli media sources, no Cabinet meeting was held in advance of the decision to attack the ship, and a small number of Cabinet officials may have given the go-ahead for the attack ... Since the ship was in international waters when it was seized, the takeover could be considered as an act of war, but Israeli officials say that the Iranian ship was disguised as a humanitarian aid ship flying the flag of Antigua. For that reason, analysts say that a response by the Iranian government seems unlikely."

U.K. file on Entebbe contains claim that Israel behind hijacking of its own aircraft [11/05/09] "Newly released British documents contain a claim by an unnamed contact that the Shin Bet security service collaborated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine to hijack the June 1976 flight from Israel that was diverted to Entebbe, Uganda, the BBC reported Friday. Israel's rescue of the dozens of hostages taken in the hijacking of the Air France plane, popularly known as the Entebbe raid, is considered one of the most daring and successful operations in Israeli history. Elite Israel Defense Forces troops stormed the airport where the hostages, many of them Israeli, were held and overpowered the hijackers and Ugandan soldiers. ..."  

ADL demands that Goldstone repudiate his own report [11/05/09] "ADL director to Goldstone: As a good Jew, repudiate report. Anti-Defamation League director (and only member) Abraham Foxman of ADL called on Goldstone to repudiate his report: "I have had great respect for you over the years. Your work at the head of the South Africa Reconciliation Commission and in helping to find a just solution to the Bosnian conflict deserves the highest commendation. "Moreover, I know you to be a proud Jew who serves on the Board of Trustees of Hebrew University and who has a daughter living in Israel." "With this background, I wondered in the first place how you could take on the chairmanship of the investigation of the war in Gaza mandated by the UN Human Rights Council," he said. Demolishing homes and lives in East Jerusalem [11/04/09] "If you want to know what municipal ethnic cleansing looks like, then look at what is happening in East Jerusalem. The story below is yet another uprooting of Palestinian families living in a city where they have always lived. This is all part of Israel’s plan to Judaise Jerusalem before there is any more talk of dividing the city between Israelis and Palestinians for a two-state solution. It is not enough that Israel illegally occupied East Jerusalem in 1967 and made life unbelievably miserable for the Palestinians in the city; since then, it has demolished over 24,000 Palestinian homes to move in Jewish settlers. And it has not stopped there. Some 1500 new demolition orders are reportedly planned. The Palestinians get no replacement homes, no compensation, and even more outrageous, they are expected to remove the rubble of their former homes or else pay a hefty fine. There is no time allowed to organise the removal of their furniture and apart from the little they can salvage, the rest is either demolished with the house or taken away by removalists. Adults and children suddenly find themselves homeless – on the street or at best in a tent – with no idea of what will become of them as world leaders try to find the words like "unhelpful" so as not to offend Israel while doing and saying nothing to stop this assault on human rights and dignity... ..."  

Report: Israel creates military court for Palestinian children [11/03/09] "An Israeli judge has announced the establishment of a new military court dealing solely with the sentencing of Palestinian children. Ma’ariv, the daily Hebrew-language newspaper, wrote that "from now on, Palestinian children will be brought in front of military judges under the new structure of a special military court to sentence children under the legal age of majority to avoid the recent situation where children have been brought to normal military courts."The sentencing of children under the legal age of majority in regular military courts constitutes a contravention of the Convention of the Rights of the Child, which Israel ratified in 1991.... ..."  

'Russian who spied on Israel shot dead in Moscow' [11/03/09] "Shabtai Kalmanovitch, an Israeli immigrant from the former Soviet Union who served time in prison for spying for the KGB, was shot and killed while driving in downtown Moscow, news agencies reported on Monday. According to the Interfax news agency, Kalmanovitch was shot while driving in his Mercedes in the Russian capital. The report said Kalmanovitch was shot by assailants armed with semi-automatic weapons who drove by in a passing vehicle. Kalmanovitch's driver, Fyotor Tomnov, and another associate who was with them were also wounded in the attack, according to reports. The driver is currently hospitalized in serious condition. The shooting is believed to be connected to a business dispute, according to reports. Kalmanovitch is a businessman and a former agent for the Russian secret services who has been implicated in criminal activities in the past. As a youth, he immigrated to Israel in 1972. One of his assignments as an agent was to ascertain information about Nativ, a Zionist immigration and liaison agency which was active in the former Soviet Union. Moscow had always viewed Nativ as a front for espionage activity that fomented unrest and dissent against the Soviet regime. Kalmanovitch tried unsuccessfully to land a position with the prime minister's bureau during Golda Meir's tenure in office. Afterwards, though, he was hired to work for former MK Samuel Flatto-Sharon. Kalmanovitch also gained access to former finance minister Yigal Hurvitz during the latter's tenure as a member of Knesset. Flatto-Sharon and Kalmanovitch were linked with Wolfgang Vogel, an East German lawyer and a well-known associate of officials in the Stasi. Vogel was considered an expert in negotiations which brokered swaps for prisoners of wars. Vogel was involved in the negotiated release of an Israeli, Miron Marcus, who was taken prisoner by rebels in Mozambique after his plane was forced to land in the African country. ..."

Thy Weapon of War: Dachau - The fraudulent stories of "extermination" and "homicidal gas chambers"  [11/03/09] "Dachau is a town in Upper Bavaria, in the southern part of Germany. Even "mainstream" historians and Holohoax propagandists now acknowledge that no mass exterminations took place at Dachau or in any of the German camps on German soil, and the fairy tales about "gas chambers" and "mass exterminations of jews" are now relegated mainly to the camps that were in occupied Poland. The vast majority of those who died at Dachau did so near the very end of the war due to typhus outbreaks. Two-thirds or more of the inmates at Dachua were non-jews, though in sad Hollywood Holohoax propaganda like Band of Brothers, virtually 100% of the inmates are portrayed as Jews ..."  Note: People have been to Dachau and say it looks like a factory, which is what the curators say it was during the war. Nobody working there even mentions extermination or holocaust. It was a prison labor facility, like those being run in the US.

Telegraph.co.uk: Memoirs of Hitler aide could finally end Holocaust claims  [11/02/09] "Fritz Darges died at the weekend aged 96 with instructions for his manuscript about his time spent at the side of the Führer to be published once he was gone. Darges was the last surviving member of Hitler's inner circle and was present for all major conferences, social engagements and policy announcements for four years of the war. Experts say his account of his time as Hitler's direct link to the SS could discount the claims of revisionists who have tried to claim the German leader knew nothing of the extermination programme. Right-wing historians have claimed the planning for the murder of six million Jews was carried out by SS chief Heinrich Himmler. Mainstream historians believe it inconceivable that Hitler did not issue verbal directives about the mass killings in Darges' presence. Other courtiers, such as armaments minister Albert Speer and propaganda chief Josef Goebbels, had their diaries published post war with no reference to hearing Hitler ordering the "Final Solution". Darges died on Saturday still believing in the man who engineered the Jewish Holocaust as "the greatest who ever lived." His memoirs will be published now in accordance with his will. Darges trained as an export clerk but joined the SS in April 1933. His zeal for National Socialism soon earmarked him for great things and by 1936 he was the senior adjutant to Martin Bormann, Hitler's all-powerful secretary. "I first met the Führer at the Nuremberg party rally in 1934," he said in an interview given to a German newspaper shortly before his death at his home in Celle. "He had a sympathetic look, he was warm-hearted. I rated him from the off." After serving in the SS panzer division Wiking in France and Russia he was promoted on to the Führer's personal staff in 1940. He rose to the rank of Lt. "I had to organise all the finances. I had the feeling that Eva's sister was interested in me but I didn't think I should become the brother-in-law of the Fuehrer. "As adjutant I was responsible for his day-to-day programme. I must, and was, always there for him, at every conference, at every inter-service liaison meeting, at all war conferences. "I must say I found him a genius." But Darges misjudged the "warm-hearted" Führer deeply during one conference at Rastenburg on July 18 1944 – two days before a bomb plot nearly succeeded in killing him. During a strategy conference a fly began buzzing around the room, landing on Hitler's shoulder and on the surface of a map several times. Irritated, Hitler ordered Darges to "dispatch the nuisance". Darges suggested whimsically that, as it was an "airborne pest" the job should go to the Luftwaffe adjutant, Nicolaus von Below. Enraged, Hitler dismissed Darges on the spot. "You're for the eastern front!" he yelled. And so he was sent into combat. But despite the dramatic end to his time with Hitler, he would still hear nothing against "the boss." "We all dreamed of a greater German empire," he said. Jewish settler arrested for murder and bombings [11/02/09] "In Israel, police have announced the arrest of a Jewish settler on suspicion of murder and carrying out bomb attacks. The 37-year-old Yaakov ‘Jack’ Teitel is an immigrant from the United States. He is believed to have been responsible for the murder of two Palestinians in 1997. He is also thought to have carried out four bomb attacks since 2006, one of them on Zeev Sternheil, a professor who has long been critical of the Jewish settlements on the West Bank. In another attack, a boy of 15 was injured; the bomb was intended for his parents, both of whom belonged to a Jewish sect that embraces 'jesus christ'. ..."  Note: Yay!

The Return of Israel's 'Existential Dread'  [11/01/09] "The invisible but all-pervasive presence on that cheerful map of existential dread is Iran. If Israel were to launch a pre-emptive strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, Tehran's two terrorist allies on our borders—Hezbollah and Hamas—would almost certainly renew attacks against the Israeli home front. And Tel Aviv would be hit by Iranian long-range missiles. ..."  Note: Iran hasn't started any war for the last 200 years. The leaders of Iran may be many things, but they are not stupid. They understand that any attack on Israel would lead to a massive counter-attack by the US and Israel which would pulverize Iran into a puddle of green glass. And knowing, without any bit of ambiguity, that Israel has nuclear weapons, refuses to sign the NNPT, and refuses inspections of their nuclear sites, it is Iran which is probably feeling a great deal of existential dread right now. Every single inspection by the IAEA has indicated that absolutely no nuclear material has been diverted, nor has any been enriched beyond the level necessary to run a power plant. This article, and the fact-challenged and fact-devoid articles like it, are journalistic equivalent of junk food, intended for massive consumption to prepare the American public for an Israeli attack against Iran in the near-term. 

Israel confirms running spy networks in Lebanon [11/01/09] "When we are in conflict with an enemy, we gather information about them," Haaretz quoted Ya'alon as saying on Saturday. ..."  Note: So explain the fact that on 9-11, the FBI was in the process of rounding up the largest spy ring ever found inside the USA, being run by Israel. Clearly, from Ya'alon's statement, Israel sees the United States as an enemy they are in conflict with.  Israel's admitted spies inside Lebanon are the most likely reason for these fireworks rockets to be launched over the border into empty lots in Israel just when Israel needs a distraction from the Goldstone Report.

Legal Implications Of Operation Cast Lead [11/01/09] "On December 27, 2008, Israel launched a 22-day military offensive against Gaza called “Operation Cast Lead.” Israeli forces killed some 1,300 Palestinians, including 280 children, and injured approximately 4,300 others, including 1,100 children. Civilians comprised nearly 70 percent of the Palestinian death toll. The aerial and ground offensive also destroyed 2,400 homes, 29 schools, 121 commercial and industrial workshops, 60 police stations, and 30 mosques. During the Operation, thirteen Israelis were killed including three civilians and four Israeli soldiers killed by fellow Israeli soldiers. ..."

UN row threatens to sink Middle East peace plan  [11/01/09] "The Middle East peace process was on the brink of collapse last night as Britain and other European countries failed to back Israel in a key vote at the United Nations. A furious Israel threatened to pull out of peace talks if the UN Human Rights Council endorses today a controversial report condemning the Jewish state for war crimes during the Gaza offensive in January. Britain is planning to abstain, prompting a heated telephone call between Binyamin Netanyahu, the Israeli Prime Minister, and Gordon Brown on Wednesday night. Mr Netanyahu urged the Prime Minister to oppose the resolution, saying that it could derail the peace process. During what officials described as a “robust exchange”, Mr Brown said Israel could avoid censure if it held its own inquiry into the Gaza offensive. ..."

Note: Katusha's are small 'bottle rockets', essentially ... unless one lands on your head or right next to you, there's no risk. It's not a 'real' weapon of response in warfare. But the next time Israel invades Lebanon (and this is a question of when, not if), look for the IDF to go all the way to the Litani River, and claim it as Israeli territory. Israel is desperate for the water it provides.

The military exercises which are described as the largest ever by the two allies are conducted under a media blackout in the West. About a thousand US troops, from all four branches of service, would work alongside an equal number of Israel Defense Force personnel, taking part in computer-simulated war games. ..."

Israel’s European Lobby [10/30/09] "In their 2006 article “The Israel Lobby,” John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt famously assert, “Other special-interest groups have managed to skew foreign policy, but no lobby has managed to divert it as far from what the national interest would suggest, while simultaneously convincing Americans that US interests and those of the other country – in this case, Israel – are essentially identical.” Having for decades successfully steered policymaking in Washington in a pro-Israel direction, Israel’s American Lobby has more recently turned its attention to Europe. Despite its brief presence in Brussels, it appears to have already had marked success in influencing the nascent foreign policy of the European Union. One of the most important of the more than 60 organizations that make up “the Lobby” is the American Jewish Committee (AJC). Jeff Blankfort, an American Jew who is one of the Lobby’s most trenchant critics, described the AJC as “the Lobby’s unofficial foreign office.” Extending its global diplomatic mission, the AJC opened an office in Brussels in 2004. Since then, according to Blankfort, it has held weekly meetings with a high official or the chief of state of EU member states. The meetings seem to be having the desired effect. As Blankfort wrote in 2006, “Over the past year the EU has moved away from relative support for the Palestinians to adopting one position after another reflecting Israeli demands ..."   

Israel denies illegal diamond trade [10/30/09] "A UN report accuses Israel of involvement in trade of blood diamonds, used to re-arm rebels in Ivory Coast.Israel has criticized a UN report which accuses Tel Aviv of involvement in illegal diamond trade from the Ivory Coast that could be helping re-arm rebels there. Israel's Diamond Controller Shmuel Morderchai dismissed the accusations in a Wednesday statement, insisting Israel has never dealt in diamond trade with the Ivory Coast. "We are shocked by these false accusations and completely refute them," he said. The watchdog was set up in 2003 in a bid to stem the trade in 'blood diamonds' in the wake of civil wars in Angola, Sierra Leone, and Liberia, which were largely financed by illegal diamond trade. Israel has threatened to lodge an official complaint about its inclusion in the UN report at the upcoming meeting of Kimberley Process members scheduled for November 2-5 in Namibia. ..."

Did Richard Goldstone hide more sinister crimes in Gaza? - Part 1: White Phosphorus and Flechettes  [10/29/09] "... The "Flechette" shells (from the French "flêchette," meaning "small arrow") are known to contain thousands of small metal arrows, each some four centimeters long. When the shell explodes in the air, at a height of approximately 30 m above the ground, the lethal arrows scatter over a cone-shaped area some 300 m in length and 94 m wide. It should be noted that the Flechette was developed by the Americans in Vietnam, when they sought an effective weapon for attacking Viet Cong forces hiding among the trees in the jungles and dispersed over a large area. It is worth noting that this weapon has been considered controversial since it was first introduced. The arguments raised against the Flechette are based, inter alia, on the principles of international law in the field of the laws of war, according to which weapons causing "unnecessary suffering" are not to be used, and the indiscriminate use of weapons in population centers is prohibited. The Appellants will argue that the Flechette causes "unnecessary suffering" due to the enormous number of arrows, which injure the victim's body (similarly to an explosive device containing nails), and that it is also considered an "indiscriminate" weapon, since it disperses over an enormous area, and is very difficult to use precisely. Israel wants free warships from Germany [10/28/09] "In a request that has caught the Berlin government off guard, Israel has asked for the delivery of two expensive German-made warships "free of charge". The German daily Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung reported on Saturday that Tel Aviv has asked Germany to help bolster its defenses by providing a pair of MEKO corvettes that would probably cost hundreds of millions of euros. Built at the Blohm + Voss shipyard in Hamburg, the ships feature advanced radar-evading capabilities and are exclusively designed to carry US-made missile systems. Tel Aviv has also received assistance from Germany over the years. The Kiel shipyard Howaldtswerken Deutsche Werft had earlier delivered three submarines between 1999 and 2000. In addition, two more submarines are currently being built in Kiel, costing at least 500 million euros apiece, for which Germany is to pay a third. They are slated to be delivered to Israel by 2012. Berlin has not yet responded to the request, but according to the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung, "influential politicians in northern Germany" are secretly supporting the deal, claiming it will help German shipyards weather the global economic downturn ..."  Note:  And how is that, with no profit?

Israel’s Breach Of Al Aqsa Mosque [10/27/09] "Israeli occupation forces broke through the gate of Al Aqsa Mosque Sunday morning which prompted clashes with Arab worshippers. The occupation police threw stun grenades and gas at the worshippers inside. Israeli occupation Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said 12 arrests were made in an around the compound, among them guards working for the Mosque and worshippers, while wounding seven others. He claimed that Arab youth who had thrown stones and a petrol bomb at Israeli police had prompted the clashes. Numerous people sustained bruises and gas inhalation as they were inundated with smoke. ..."

Israel accused of denying Palestinians access to water [10/28/09] "Israel is accused today of denying the West Bank and Gaza access to adequate water through a "total" and "discriminatory" control that enables its own people to consume four times as much as the Palestinians. An Amnesty International report paints a picture of many Palestinian families struggling – and often failing – to secure enough water for drinking, cleaning, and agriculture while Israelis, including residents of Jewish settlements in the West Bank, have all they need for lush, irrigated farmland, swimming pools and gardens. Amnesty also suggests that taxpayers in countries who donate aid to the Palestinians are facing unnecessarily high costs to meet severe water shortages because their governments are unwilling to challenge "the most unreasonable" restrictions imposed by Israel on Palestinian access to the regionally scarce resource..."  Note: Predictable.

The Temple Time Bomb [10/27/09] "If Martin's thesis is correct that the Haram was Fort Antonia, it would cast in doubt an unquestioned modern-day Jewish tenet: that the "Wailing Wall" was part of the walls enclosing Herod's Temple. By connecting a series of historical dots and clues which others have overlooked, Martin documents that two "western walls" were known to Judaism before the time of the Crusades. Neither was a remainder of the Second Temple and neither was located near the present "Wailing Wall." Both were aborted attempts to rebuild the Third Jewish temple under the Roman Emperor Constantine from A.D. 313 to 324 and later under Julian in 362. ..."  Note:  Basically, in a nutshell, the present-day Temple Mount is actually the remains of a Roman Garrison and the real site of the supposed Temple of Solomon was located at Gihon Spring. This would explain why there has never been any archaeological evidence found to support the presence of the First Temple at the Temple Mount (the only two artifacts, the Pomegranate Staff Head and the Jehoash Tablet both being frauds). In short, the Israelis have been killing Muslims over the wrong piece of real estate. The Muslims can have the Roman Garrison at Haram Al Sharif, while the Israelis are free to build their Third Temple where the First Temple stood at Gihon Spring, and nobody has to be killed in the process. The problem is that Israel as a policy co-opts archaeology to support their politics, and when archaeology catches up with them, it gets 
embarrassing.

Israel to UN: We’ll Continue Spying in Southern Lebanon [10/27/09] "Israeli daily Haaretz revealed on Monday that Israel informed the United Nations that it will continue its spying activities in Southern Lebanon after the United Nations has asked the Zionist entity for clarifications on “listening devices” that were uncovered near the village of Hula in southern Lebanon last week. The request was made following an official Lebanese petition to the UN. According to Haaretz, Israel neither denied nor confirmed that it had placed intelligence-gathering equipment in the area, but informed the UN that “collecting intelligence” in southern Lebanon, in reference to spying, will continue “as long as the government in Beirut is not in full control of its territory.” Last Wednesday, a tripartite meeting was held at the UNIFIL base near the Rosh Hanikra border crossing between representatives of Israel, Lebanon and the UN regarding recent tensions in the area. If Israel cannot get a war with Iran to distract the world from the Goldstone Report, then Israel's plan is to provoke the Muslims into a rage in order to portray them as savages unworthy of the world's sympathy, in order to collapse the growing support for Israel's war crimes to be referred to the Hague ... Israel has two nuclear research centres - at Dimona and Soreq. The latest estimates suggest that Israel has produced at least 118 warheads with weapons grade plutonium. The Jericho ballistic missiles are capable of carrying such weapons. The Jericho One, which is now obsolete, had a range of 500 kilometres, and could carry a 20 kiloton nuclear warhead - 20 times more powerful than the US bomb dropped on Hiroshima in 1945. The Jericho Two has a range of 1500 kilometres. It could just reach Iran - and is believed to be able to carry a one megaton nuclear bomb, which is 1,000 times more powerful than the Hiroshima bomb. It is believed a Jericho Three missile is now being developed - that will be able to travel around 5,000 kilometres, bringing all of Iran and Europe into its range. Goldstone dares US on Gaza report  [10/27/09] "Richard Goldstone, the jurist who authored a UN report accusing Israel of war crimes and crimes against humanity during its war on Gaza, has challenged the US to justify its claims that his findings are flawed and biased. Goldstone told Al Jazeera on Thursday that he had not heard from the administration of Barack Obama, the US president, about the flaws Washington claims to have identified in the report. "I have yet to hear from the Obama administration what the flaws in the report that they have identified are. I would be happy to respond to them, if and when I know what they are," Goldstone said. ..."

The narrow alleyways around the compound were the scene of tense stand-offs yesterday. Jerusalem remains tight-lipped over deal between Iran, Western powers [10/22/09] "The national security adviser has instructed all government officials involved in the Iranian nuclear issue not to respond to media reports on a draft agreement between Iran and the West regarding uranium enrichment in Russia. ..."  Note: Israel is cornered here. For that matter so it the United States. When this Iran deal goes through on Friday, the primary excuse for war with Iran evaporates. Where does that leave Israel and the United States? Israel now faces war crimes charges at the Hague. Yes, the United States will veto the Goldstone Report in the Security Council, but the ringer in the deal is that the General assembly, under Resolution 377, can bypass the Security Council and send the Goldstone Report to the Hague and the United States and Israel cannot stop it. Earlier this year, the General Assembly voted through a resolution requesting Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and submit to the exact same IAEA inspections that Iran (and every other NNPT signatory) submits to. Israel refused. The fact that Israel and the United States were not able to deflect this Resolution tell us that the General Assembly has lost all patience with Israel. The credibility of the UN as a world governing body is on the line. The probability that the General Assembly will bypass the Security Council is therefore very high. A war with Iran would have distracted the media from Israel's war crimes charges. That seems not likely to happen now. As for the United States, the US Government was hoping to ignite a new major war, one which would distract Americans from the already failed wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention the economy destroyed by failed US Government policy. And based on prior history, the US Government probably anticipates that a new major war would persuade Americans to forget their anger over the aforesaid failed government policy, and imbued with a renewed patriotic fervor would suddenly return to being obedient breeders of soldiers and payers of war-taxes. As naive as that expectation might have been, the Iran enrichment deal ends the possibility of a new war with which to distract from the old war. So both the United States and Israel are in serious trouble. They had wanted war with Iran to distract the world from their various domestic problems, and now that is not likely to happen. Israel has to live with their war crimes charges. The US has to live with their ruined economy and failed wars, and public anger. Both Israel and the US are showing themselves as desperate to block Israel war crimes charged from progressing, and may have wasted that political capital in vain if the UN General; Assembly invokes Resolution 377.So, in short, Israel and the US are cornered politically. Cornered animals are the most dangerous and desperate. Our future is in the hands of whichever leader is the least mentally stable, and ready to hit the panic button. That panic move; that striking out from the corner could be something subtle like a new false-flag "terror" attack, or something as straightforward as simply attacking Iran without provocation.

Israel wants law of war changed after damning UN Gaza report [10/21/09] "Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu instructed his government on Tuesday to draw up proposals to amend the international laws of war after a damning UN report on its war in Gaza. .... The residents, however, argue that Israeli military occupation officials withhold their documents or refuse to issue documents for their houses. The status of Jerusalem Al-Quds is among the crucial outstanding issues of the Middle East peace process, with the Palestinians reiterating that any Palestinian state should include the city as its capital...."  Note: Under General Assembly Resolution 273, Israel was admitted on the condition that it grant all Palestinians the right to return to their homes and receive compensation for lost or damaged property, according to General Assembly Resolution 194, paragraph 11. Suffice to say, Israel has never lived up to these terms. Israel's membership in the UN is therefore null and void. Israel is a rogue state. Scientist Arrested On Spy Charges Worked For Department Of Defense [10/20/09] "A scientist credited with helping discover evidence of water on the moon was arrested Monday on charges of attempting to pass along classified information to an FBI agent posing as an Israeli intelligence officer. .... An affidavit suggests why FBI agents posed as agents of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad to conduct the sting operation. From 1998 to 2008, the complaint alleges, Nozette was a technical adviser for a consultant company that was wholly owned by the Israeli government. Nozette was paid about $225,000 over that period, the court papers say. Then, in January of this year, Nozette allegedly traveled to another foreign country with two computer thumb drives and apparently did not return with them. Prosecutors also quote an unnamed colleague of Nozette who said the scientist said that if the U.S. government ever tried to put him in jail for an unrelated criminal offense, he would go to Israel or another foreign country and "tell them everything" he knows. The complaint does not allege that the government of Israel or anyone acting on its behalf violated U.S. law. In Jerusalem, Israeli government officials had no immediate comment. ..."   

Israeli Ambassador Rejects American Jews, Embraces Hagee, Christian Zionists [10/20/09] "Michael Oren, the Israeli Ambassador to the U.S., is apparently rejecting the invitation by J Street for their upcoming conference. It should be shocking that the ambassador would reject the invitation to speak to a conference of American Jews coming together in support of Israel, particularly since he was quite willing to speak to John Hagee's Christians United for Israel this past July, a few months after being named as ambassador. Israel spying devices found by UN [10/20/09] "Israeli spying devices that were planted during the 2006 war with Hezbollah have been discovered in southern Lebanon, the UN has said. UN peacekeepers discovered the buried devices when they were blown up by remote control by Israel on Sunday. Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora accused Israel of blatantly violating the UN Security Council resolution that led to the end of fighting. Israel has declined to comment directly on the matter. .."   

Russians deal Lieberman 'slap' by endorsing Goldstone report  [10/20/09] "Israel relayed a sharply worded protest to the Russian government following Russia's vote in favor of adopting the Goldstone report at the Human Rights Council in Geneva Friday, according to senior Foreign Ministry officials in Jerusalem. Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman suffered a personal blow by the Russian vote, which went against the promises he received from his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, days prior to the vote at the United Nations body. Russian officials clarified that Moscow would oppose any discussion of the Goldstone report by the UN Security Council, Israel Radio reported on Sunday night. ..."  Note: What is really sickening to many people about all this deal making is that nobody even bothers with the illusion any more that their decisions are based on 'law' or 'morality'.

UN body okays Goldstone Gaza report accusing Israel of war crimes  [10/16/09] "South African jurist Richard Goldstone, who headed a UN investigation commission into the conduct of Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas during Israel's offensive in Gaza last winter, criticized on Friday the United Nations Human Rights Council's decision to endorse the report his commission had compiled. The council on Friday endorsed the report which accused both Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas of committing war crimes during their December-January conflict in Gaza. Goldstone told the Swiss newspaper Le Temps before the vote that the wording of the resolution was unfortunate because it included only censure of Israel. By going public with their warnings to other governments not to support the Goldstone report, Israel has made it very difficult for those government to block the report without advertising to their own people just how subverted those governments are to Israel; something the people of most nations are not as ambivalent about as Americans. In addition, the Charter of the United Nations makes it an international obligation to investigate and prosecute war crimes wherever they may be found. Not only is the United States failing to investigate the allegations of torture of prisoners and extraction of confessions under torture, but has openly blocked the United nations form taking action with regard to Israel war crimes in Gaza, making the US an accessory after the fact to those war crimes. Again, it is the United States, nor Iran, which is failing to live up to its International Obligations.'

Goldstone Report: Palestinians' Anger At Their Leaders Intensifies [10/11/09] "The Palestinian Authority (PA) is trying desperately to contain the political fallout following its decision to withdraw support for a UN report into war crimes committed in Gaza in December and January. ..."   Note: The Palestinians understand very clearly that they have been betrayed by top PA leadership (particularly that of Abbas), and this could very well spell the end of the Palestinian Authority. Of course, Arafat robbed them of billions and left them in squalor, too.  A solution: The Palestinians should get together and take invitations from all those who wish to be in power, for an alleged 'vote', and then turn around and kill all those who aspired for power  (the 6% who are psychopaths anyway, and kowtow to the system) , and then appoint someone who is honest and would look after their affairs. Only 'then' will an 'election' bear edible fruit for them.

Of course this "furious" administration won't do what is needed here, and that is the complete and utter cessation of all support for Israel, military and financial ... And on the settlement issue, Netanyahu's government has spat directly into President Obama's face, and 'told him it's raining'. Allowing this bad behavior to stand, by continuing to support it financially, means that Obama has shown who really controls US foreign policy.

Following al-Aqsa clashes, Israel mulls banning Islamic movement  [10/09/09] "The Israeli government announced yesterday it would consider banning Israel's Islamic Movement at the next cabinet meeting, in a significant escalation of tensions that have fueled a fortnight of bloody clashes in Jerusalem over access to the Haram al-Sharif compound of mosques. The move followed the arrest of the movement's leader, Sheikh Raed Salah, on Tuesday on suspicion of incitement and sedition. Police accused Sheikh Salah of calling for a "religious war" in recent statements in which he warned that Israel was seeking a takeover of the Haram, which includes the al-Aqsa mosque. ..."  Note: So, once again, Israel openly carries out a provocation, waits for a reaction, then uses the reaction to escalate the situation. 'Israel not after real peace with Palestine' [10/09/09] "The Israeli Foreign Ministry's documents suggest Tel Aviv is not after a real peace deal but rather a shelter from international frustration and Palestinian armed response. An unapproved document outlining Israel's future foreign policy states that the government should not attempt to reach a permanent settlement with the Palestinians but should focus instead on a temporary accord to prevent US and European frustration. The draft, handed to Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Wednesday, was composed by Naor Gilon, Lieberman's former counselor for political affairs, and is scheduled to be presented before the ministry's directorate within the coming days in order to be approved as Israel's official foreign policy. ..."   

US envoy returns to Mideast amid pessimism [10/09/09] "US envoy George Mitchell sought on Thursday to push Israelis and Palestinians to quickly relaunch peace talks, but Israel said Washington's vision of a regional Middle East peace was unrealistic. "We will continue with our efforts to achieve an early relaunch of negotiations... because we believe that is an essential step to achieving a comprehensive peace," Mitchell said as he began talks with Israeli President Shimon Peres. "There will be problems and difficulties along the road," he said. "But I want to assure you that (US) President (Barack) Obama... (remains) deeply and firmly committed to achieving comprehensive peace in the region." The obstacles facing such a goal however, were underlined when Israel's hardline Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said just hours before meeting with Mitchell that the US vision was not realistic...."  Note: Yes, to Avigdor Lieberman, a former nightclub bouncer, it didn't seem realistic.

The US has sought to put off the impact of the report, first aired last month at the UN's Human Rights Council in Geneva, in the interest of keeping open the door to a resumption of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks. But that door is closed at least temporarily anyway, and instead the US finds one of its partners in any future peace effort – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas – under pressure at home for bowing to the US and sitting on the Gaza report. The 575-page Goldstone report – named for the South African jurist, Richard Goldstone, who authored it – finds that both Israel and Hamas committed "war crimes" in the course of the month-long war. But it is mainly critical of Israeli actions and suggests the possibility of taking Israeli officials responsible for the alleged crimes to the International Criminal Court in The Hague. ..."     

Analyst finds Israeli fingerprints in Telegraph report [10/08/09] "A leading media analyst explains 'the real motive' behind a controversial British report regarding the family background of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The Daily Telegraph recently claimed that a photograph of President Ahmadinejad, holding up his identity card ahead of the 2009 presidential election, clearly shows his family have had Jewish roots. The report has received a great deal of media publicity over the past few days. A senior political analyst specializing in media affairs responded to the report on Wednesday, saying that it shows that British dailies, such as the Daily Telegraph, are taking their cue from Israeli leaders. At a joint press conference with Iran's Atomic Energy Organization chief Ali Akbar Salehi in Tehran, ElBaradei brought Israel under spotlight and said that the Tel Aviv regime has refused to allow inspections into its nuclear installations for 30years, the report said. "Israel is the number one threat to the Middle East given the nuclear arms it possesses," ElBaradei was quoted as saying. Israel is widely assumed to have nuclear capabilities, although it refuses to confirm or deny the allegation. "This (possession of nuclear arms) was the cause for some proper measures to gain access to its (Israel's) power plants ... and the U.S. president has done some positive measures for the inspections to happen," said ElBaradei. UN body urges Israel to allow nuclear inspection [09/19/09] "The United Nations nuclear assembly voted on Friday to urge Israel to accede to the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and place all atomic sites under the world body's inspections, in a surprise victory for Arab states ... The resolution, passed narrowly for the first time in nearly two decades, expresses concern about "Israeli nuclear capabilities" and calls on the International Atomic Energy Agency chief, Mohamed ElBaradei, to work on the issue. Israel is one of only three countries worldwide along with India and Pakistan outside the nuclear NPT and is widely assumed to have the Middle East's only nuclear arsenal, though it has never confirmed or denied it. "The delegation of Israel deplores this resolution," David Danieli, deputy director of Israel's atomic energy commission, told the chamber after the vote. "Israel will not cooperate in any matter with this resolution which is only aiming at reinforcing political hostilities and lines of division in the Middle East region."  Note:  This is good news, no it is great news. Now, let's hope it is followed up on. Though I will point out, Israel is saying they will not cooperate in any way with this resolution. Hmmm... sounds like time for some strong sanctions. Senior Israeli security officials have said that Mr. Netanyahu went to Moscow to persuade the Kremlin not to sell Iran S-300 surface-to-air missiles, a sophisticated anti-aircraft defence system that Tehran wants to deploy around its nuclear facilities. This would make an Israeli air strike against Iran's nuclear installations far more dangerous. In 2007, Russia signed a contract to sell the S-300 to Iran, but has not yet fulfilled its terms. Israel has devoted great diplomatic effort to persuading Russia to refrain from going ahead with the export deal. Both Ehud Olmert, the last Israeli prime minister, and President Shimon Peres made their views plain during visits to Moscow last year. 
If the Arctic Sea was carrying S-300 missiles to Iran, it is unclear whether this had the approval of Russia's government - or elements of the Kremlin's security and intelligence services. Israeli observers believe that Mossad might have played a role in the vessel's interception. "I don't think we participated in boarding the boat, but we may have had a role in alerting the Russian authorities," said Efraim Inbar, the director of Israel's Begin-Sadat Centre for Strategic Studies.   Jewish Settlements Violate Law: UN  [09/11/09] "UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Wednesday, September 9, blasted Israel's plans to build new Jewish settler homes in the occupied West bank as a violation of international law. "Such actions and all settlement activity are contrary to international law and the roadmap," Ban said in a statement on the UN News website, referring to the internationally-backed plan for a two-state solution. The UN chief expressed "deep concern" over Israel’s recent decision to authorize further construction in settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory. Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak authorized on Monday, September 7, building hundreds of new homes in settlements in the occupied West Bank. "The Secretary-General urges Israel to respond positively to the important efforts under way to create the conditions for effective Israeli-Palestinian negotiations," stressed the statement. Ban Ki-moon also reiterated his call on Israel "to stop all settlement activity, including natural growth, and dismantle all outposts erected since March 2001 in the occupied Palestinian territory."  There are more than 164 Jewish settlements in the West Bank, eating up more than 40 percent of the occupied territory. Israel’s controversial decision came just days ahead of a planned visit to the region by US Middle East envoy George Mitchell. The right-wing Israeli government of Benjamin Netanyahu has resisted calls by the Obama administration to halt settlement building to help restart the stalled peace process. The international community considers all Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank to be illegal and is pushing for a construction freeze ..."
