Documentary: "Last Extinction" [02/08/12]
[52:20]
"Approximately 13,000 years after the mighty mammoth and 35 other groups of mammals vanished from North America, some scientists pose the controversial theory that a massive impact from space may have heralded their demise.
For the past four decades, experts have been at odds over what causes this mass extinction. While mainstream scholars pose that the changing climate or ancient hunters were likely to blame for driving the beasts into oblivion, others believe that a comet from deep space may have broken up over North America.
This would have caused a devastating series of explosions that decimated the landscape, and wiped out animal populations.
The proof, they claim, lies in the discovery of a mysterious black mat layer at over fifty sites across the continent. The materials found in the “black mats” include rare, microscopic “nanodiamonds,” which are thought to be the product of extraterrestrial impact. In this documentary, filmmakers pose that perhaps all three theories share an common element of truth. [...]"

"Chris
Hedges' Empire of Illusion" [02/06/12]
[82:23]
"Journalist Chris Hedges discusses his recent book Empire of Illusion:
the End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle (2010). In it, he charts the
dramatic rise of a post-literate society that craves fantasy, ecstasy, and
illusion. Hedges argues we now live in two societies: one, the minority,
functions in a print-based, literate world and can cope with complexity and
can separate illusion from truth; the other, a growing majority, is retreating
from a reality-based world into one of false certainty and magic where serious
film and theater, as well as newspapers and books, are being pushed to the
margins. Chris Hedges, author of War Is a Force That Gives Us Meaning, is
currently a senior fellow at The Nation Institute and the Anschutz
Distinguished Fellow at Princeton University. He writes for many publications,

Book: "Empire
of Illusion: The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle "
"In this New York Times bestseller, Pulitzer Prizewinning journalist
Chris Hedges has written a shattering meditation on American obsession with
celebrity and the epidemic of illiteracy that threatens our cultural
integrity. Reporting on such phenomena as professional wrestling, the
pornographic film industry, and unchecked casino capitalism, Hedges exposes
the mechanisms used to divert us from confronting the economic, political, and
moral collapse around us. Empire of Illusion shows us how illiteracy and the
embrace of fantasy have impoverished our working class, allowed for the
continuance of destructive public policy, and ushered in cultural bankruptcy."

The documentary film is currently in production, consisting of interviews with various academics, social activists and campaigners all of whom provide information on where we’re going wrong when we treat offenders, and what we could head towards in regards to the solutions available.
It must be recognized that in order for change to occur in the system of punishment and justice, wider societal and cultural issues need to be addressed – as this documentary film recognizes that there are inherent flaws in our current social system.

"The Century Of The Self" [01/30/12]
[4 hours]
"The Century of the Self by Adam Curtis tells the untold and controversial story of the growth of the mass-consumer society. How is the all-consuming self created, by whom, and in whose interest?
The Freud dynasty is at the heart of this compelling social history. Sigmund Freud, founder of psychoanalysis; Edward Bernays, who invented public relations; Anna Freud, Sigmund's devoted daughter; and present-day PR guru and Sigmund's great grandson, Matthew Freud. Sigmund Freud's work into the bubbling and murky world of the subconscious changed the world. By introducing a technique to probe the unconscious mind, Freud provided useful tools for understanding the secret desires of the masses. Unwittingly, his work served as the precursor to a world full of political spin doctors, marketing moguls, and society's belief that the pursuit of satisfaction and happiness is man's ultimate goal....Check out this post with more info. about them and The
Tavistock Institute: [...] Part One documents the story of the relationship between Sigmund Freud and his American nephew, Edward Bernays who invented 'Public Relations' in the 1920s, being the first person to take Freud's ideas to manipulate the masses. He showed American corporations how they could make people want things they didn't need by systematically linking mass-produced goods to their unconscious desires.
Part Two explores how those in power in post-war America used Freud's ideas about the unconscious mind to try and control the masses. Politicians and planners came to believe Freud's underlying premise that deep within all human beings were dangerous and irrational desires. They were convinced that it was the unleashing of these instincts that had led to the barbarism of Nazi Germany, and in response to this, they set out to find ways to control the masses so as to manage the 'hidden enemy' within the human mind.
Part Three-There is a Policeman Inside All Our Heads, He Must Be Destroyed:
In the 1960s, a radical group of psychotherapists challenged the influence of Freudian ideas, which lead to the creation of a new political movement that sought to create 'new people', free of the psychological conformity that had been implanted in people's minds by business and politics.
Part Four -Eight People Sipping Wine in Kettering: This episode explains how politicians turned to the same techniques used by business in order to read and manipulate the inner desires of the masses. Both New Labor with Tony Blair and the Democrats led by Bill Clinton, used the focus group which had been invented by psychoanalysts in order to regain power. Both set out to mold their policies to manipulate people's innermost desires and feelings, just as capitalism had learned to do with products."

"The Buddhist concept of reincarnation, while both mysterious and enchanting, is hard for most westerners to grasp.
Unmistaken Child follows the 4-year search for the reincarnation of Lama
Konchog, a world-renowned Tibetan master who passed away in 2001 at age 84. The Dalai Lama charges the deceased monk’s devoted disciple, Tenzin Zopa (who had been in his service since the age of seven), to search for his master’s reincarnation.
Tenzin sets off on this unforgettable quest on foot, mule and even helicopter, through breathtaking landscapes and remote traditional Tibetan villages.
Along the way Tenzin listens to stories about young children with special characteristics, and performs rarely seen ritualistic tests designed to determine the likelihood of reincarnation. He eventually presents the child he believes to be his reincarnated master to the Dalai Lama so that he can make the final decision.
Stunningly shot, Unmistaken Child is a beguiling, surprising, touching, even humorous experience. [...]"

"In The Beckoning Silence, Joe Simpson – whose amazing battle for survival featured in the multi-award winning Touching the Void – travels to the treacherous North Face of the Eiger to tell the story of one of mountaineerings most epic tragedies.
As a child, it was this story and that of one of the climbers in particular, that first captured Simpsons imagination and inspired him to take up mountaineering.
Toni Kurz was a brilliant young mountaineer, who along with three other climbers tried to climb the mountain in 1936, which was then the last great unconquered peak in the Alps.
Their assault on the mountain started well, but then disaster struck. One by one Kurzs colleagues were killed, leaving him alone, hanging on the end of a rope fighting for his life in the most horrific of circumstances.
Over 50 years later in Peru, Kurzs story haunted Simpson as he battled for his own survival while hanging in mid-air. His plight uncannily mirrored that of Kurz – except, against all the odds, Simpson lived whilst his hero had perished. [...]"
Documentary: "Chronos" [01/28/12]
[41:34]
"Chronos is a 1985 abstract film directed by Ron Fricke, created with custom-built time-lapse cameras. At 45 minutes long, Chronos has no actors or dialog. The soundtrack consists of a single continuous piece by composer Michael Stearns. Filmed in dozens of locations on five continents, the film relates to the concept of time passing on different scales -- the bulk of the film covers the history of civilization, from pre-history to Egypt to Rome to Late Antiquity to the rise of Western Europe in the Middle Ages to the Renaissance to the modern era. It centers on European themes but not exclusively. Other time scales include the passing of seasons, and the passing of night and day, and the passing shadows of the sun in an afternoon to the passing of people on the street. These themes intermingle with many symbolisms.
Chronos shares its particular style with the film Koyaanisqatsi, for which Ron Fricke was the cinematographer, as well as his later films Sacred Site and
Baraka. Special camera mechanics and rigging were built to handle the unusually long and smooth time-lapse shots planned by the director, such as a 24-hour shot of a desert while perfectly-evenly panning 180 degrees. The director also used the system in his later films.
Michael Stearns, while composing the soundtrack for the film, used a custom-made instrument called "The Beam" to generate many of the sounds he required. The Beam was 12 feet (3.7 m) long, made of extruded aluminum with 24 piano strings of gauge 19-22.
The name of the film comes from the Ancient Greek word χρόνος, khronos, which means time and is also the source to many modern terms related to time, such as chronology, synchronous etc. [...]"

[90:25]
"Powaqqatsi, or Powaqqatsi: Life in Transformation, is the 1988 sequel to the experimental 1982 documentary film
Koyaanisqatsi, by Godfrey Reggio. It is the second film in the Qatsi trilogy. Powaqqatsi is a Hopi word meaning “parasitic way of life” or “life in transition” . While Koyaanisqatsi focused on modern life in industrial countries, Powaqqatsi, which similarly has no dialogue, focuses more on the conflict in third world countries between traditional ways of life and the new ways of life introduced with industrialization.
As with Koyaanisqatsi (1982) and the third and final part of the ‘Qatsi’ trilogy, Naqoyqatsi (2002), the film is strongly related to its soundtrack, written by Philip Glass. Here, human voices (especially children’s and mainly from South America and Africa) appear more than in
Koyaanisqatsi, in harmony with the film’s message and images. [...]"
Documentary: "Time Machine"

"From the creation of the highest mountains to the opening of a flower’s petals, time controls the world around us. To understand this super-powerful force on Earth, we must wrench control of time ourselves – compressing, expanding, stopping and dissecting it, to reveal how the passing of time shapes our world and lives.
The World Shaped By Time. First in a three-part documentary series offering an insight into the dramatic forces that shape life on Earth, using speeded-up footage that compresses centuries into seconds. The programme follows the movement of mountains, rivers, glaciers and the sea, and offers a glimpse of what the future might hold, revealing how the Great Rift Valley may well be on its way to becoming the next ocean.
Life: The Race Against Time. How the passing of time on Earth affects life on a variety of levels, from the daily opening of a flower’s petals to the evolution of the horse. A swift journey through the seasons demonstrates how caribou spend most of their time on the move, while the flying squirrel’s body clock, attuned to the rhythms of the Earth, is revealed to be the most accurate in nature.
Masters of Time. The last episode in the series examines how humans perceive and experience time, investigating the internal body clock which tells people when to eat, drink, sleep and relax. The importance of accurately measuring time is explored in relation to human evolution, and there’s a debate about whether mankind will ever be able to travel between past, present and future. [...]"

"This BBC documentary series examines the relationship between Russia’s richest men (the oligarchs) and Putin’s administration in the Kremlin.
Broadcast a year before the Litvinenko murder, this fascinating series lifted the lid on the struggle that still continues between
Putin, and his adversaries, the Russian Oligarchs. The series follows each one in turn to find out what they were up to in the years leading up to 2005, and the crew is granted intimate access. Two of the five are now in exile, wanted on criminal charges, and planning their own
anti-Putin campaigns with their wealth and influence. The second episode follows the trial and conviction of Russia’s richest man, Mikhail
Khodorkovsky. Khodorkovsky’s grinning face was famously beamed across the world from behind the bars of the court’s cage, and this episode reveals the tactics that Putin used to suppress the oil baron and separate him from his company and wealth.
Final part in the formidable series examines Putin’s fight with the only serious rival for the presidency, Yuri
Luzhkov. The crew follow Luzhkov, the renegade billionaire Mayor of Moscow as he takes the fight to
Putin. This is a fascinating film which shows both the ruthless methods in which Putin crushes his opposition and the extreme corruption that exist at the highest levels of Russian government. [...]"

"Divorce: Iranian Style unfolds inside an Iranian divorce court, providing a subtle and intimate look at the lives of women in a country stereotypically associated with fanaticism and oppression. Astute and beautifully observed, the film reveals the ingenuity and humor with which Iranian women negotiate the restrictions of their society.
Divorce: Iranian Style challenges preconceptions about what life is like for women in Iran. The most startling thing about the film is simply that it was made. The filmmakers follow the cases of three women who are attempting to divorce their husbands.
Although Iranian religious law frowns on divorce, a man is allowed to claim the privilege without needing to show cause, provided he pays his ex-wife compensation. A woman, however, can only sue for divorce if she can prove that her husband is sterile or mad, or if he agrees to let her out of their marriage contract. In the last case, the compensation becomes the bargaining chip: the man will sometimes give his wife her freedom if he doesn’t have to pay.
The women are assertive, demanding, and persistent to a degree that confounds stereotypes of oppression. They challenge the judge, badger the uncooperative clerk for misplaced files, chew out their husbands and their husbands’ families. [...]"

"Inspired by musician and eco-philosopher David Rothenberg’s book of the same title, this documentary explores the intriguing, charming, complex and often conflicting theories on why birds sing like they do and why humans are so attracted to the sound.
The film features contributions from musicians including Laurie Anderson, Jarvis Cocker and Beth Orton; enlightening and often startling analysis from some of the world’s most eminent birdsong scientists; a literary guide to birdsong in poetry; a bizarre birdsong-themed art ‘happening’; the creation of a new musical composition from the Afro-Celt Sound System, entirely made up of manipulated birdsongs; and a strange musical duet at New York’s Bronx Aviary, featuring humans and birds.

The deepest mystery of all: What purpose does music serve? Famed naturalist Sir David Attenborough examines various exotic members of the animal kingdom for clues to this fascinating puzzle.
After laying out for the audience the complex structures that transform sound into music – musical phrases, melodies, themes, and variations – Sir David introduces us to the animal acknowledged to produce the most complicated and longest song yet discovered – the humpback whale.
With Cornell University researcher Katy Payne as his guide, he eavesdrops on these gigantic mammals through a hydrophone dropped into the Dominican Republic’s Samana Bay, where the whales congregate during the winter months.

"For the first time ever, Australia’s most secretive soldiers have invited a TV crew to document them in Afghanistan.
This exclusive documentary, over three years in the making, follows investigative journalist and four time Walkley winner Chris Masters as he goes deep into the field with the Special Air Services Regiment, the
SAS. The most comprehensive account of these elite forces in action, cameras accompany the Special Forces on several missions inside enemy lines, including night raids on Taliban hotspots, to a high risk undercover operation to destroy a multi-million dollar Taliban drug lab.
Australian Special Forces soldiers, some of whom have been wounded in action, talk candidly of their experiences, about the dangers of working with allies who can turn on them, and on their views of progress in Afghanistan, as the transition phase evolves towards local control.
The cameras are there on a key date in this conflict, that of the tenth anniversary of September 11th, the day that changed the world and marked the start of this war on terror.
On making the documentary, Chris Masters says: “This program is a first in many ways. It is the first time news cameras were allowed to follow Australian Special Forces into action; the first time we see the Afghanistan war from their perspective and talk to the normally secretive

In order to "read" this matrix one must first change the current Prime Meridian back to the pyramid fields at

Giza. Today it can be found at 31 degrees, 08 minutes, and 00.8 seconds to the east of our modern Greenwich Prime Meridian. For latitude, ancient monuments were referenced to the same equator that we use today.

"Body language is a form of non-verbal communication, which consists of body posture, gestures, facial expressions, and eye movements. Humans send and interpret such signals almost entirely subconsciously.
John Borg attests that human communication consists of 93 percent body language and paralinguistic cues, while only 7% of communication consists of words themselves; however, Albert
Mehrabian, the researcher whose 1960s work is the source of these statistics, has stated that this is a misunderstanding of the findings.
Others assert that research has suggested that between 60 and 70 percent of all meaning is derived from nonverbal behavior.
Delve into the science of non-verbal signals as this very visual and highly entertaining expose reveals the hidden language in which 93% of human communication takes place.

[90:00]
"Go back to a time before the invention of artificial light and experience a world petrified in the pitch of darkness… when fear ruled the night.
Throughout the ages, real and imagined terror existed in the absence of light, and nighttime was anything but relaxing. Our predecessors cowered in caves to keep from being eaten alive.
During the Middle Ages, brutal bandits went on the prowl and roadside ditches became death traps.
Also in years past, the devil, werewolves and vampires were staunchly believed to stalk the night. With no artificial light, the black night sky of Galileo’s gaze could illuminate every star without a telescope.
This chilling special explores all the reasons why the dark was so feared throughout the eras. It takes you around the globe to places where real night still exits, and examines our modern-day fear factor when the lights go out during blackouts. [...]"

"David Attenborough’s First Life" [11/27/11]
[120:00]
"In fifty years of broadcasting, Sir David Attenborough has traveled the globe to document the living world in all its wonder. Now, in the landmark series, David Attenborough’s First Life, he completes his journey by going back in time to the roots of the tree of life, in search of the very first animals.
Attenborough’s journey begins in a forest near his childhood home in Leicester, where a fossil discovery transformed our understanding of the evolution of complex life. Traveling to the fog bound coastline of Newfoundland and the Australian outback, Attenborough unearths the earliest forms of animal life to exist on Earth.
Attenborough’s journey continues in Canada’s Rocky Mountains, where fossils document an explosion in animal diversity never seen before or since. Traveling from there to North Africa, the rain forests of Australia and the east coast of Scotland, Attenborough discovers how animals evolved to conquer not only the oceans but also the land and air.
These bizarre and wonderful creatures are brought to life with the help of cutting edge scientific technology and photo-realistic visual effects. From the first animal forms that moved to the first mouths that ate, these were creatures that evolved the traits and tools that allow all animals, including ourselves, to survive to this day. [...]"

"7/7: Crime and Prejudice" [11/22/11]
[120:00]
"This documentary explores the UK 7/7 cold case via new evidence from the recent inquests and discusses the war on terror in the context of numerous miscarriages of justice and acts of violence committed by the state. The first section of the film examines the history of the British state’s use of double agents, from the Victorian Anarchists through WW2 to the war in Northern Ireland. It concludes by examining contemporary cases of injustice and violence carried out as part of the war of terror against Muslims.
The second section of the film is a multi-dimensional study of the new evidence made available at the recent inquests. It looks at the evidence of a wider conspiracy and the fundamental flaws in the official narrative and the police investigation. It also discusses why the dialogue about ‘intelligence failures’ itself fails to address the very real possibility of state involvement in the attacks.
The final section of the film returns to the Anarchists and the case of Martial
Bourdin, Britain’s first suicide bomber, in 1894. The mythology surrounding Bourdin is used as a foundation for examining the numerous films, tv shows training exercises and real life events that either predicted 7/7 or were influenced by the attacks. The question of conspiracy theories is addressed through an original analysis unique to this film.
7/7 Crime and Prejudice combines a presentation of the cutting edge of July 7th research with a deeply contextual analysis that casts light on largely unexamined aspects of the war on terror. [...]"

"Series in which art critic Andrew Graham-Dixon tells the incredible story of Russian art – its mystery and magnificence – and until now a story untold on British television.
He explores the origins of the Russian icon from its roots in Byzantium and the first great Russian icon, Our Lady of Vladimir to the masterpieces of the country’s most famous icon painter, Andrei
Rublev. Both epic and awe-inspiring, and producing brilliant art, nevertheless medieval Russia could be a terrifying place.
Out of the Forest. Criss-crossing the epic landscape, Andrew visits the monastery founded by Ivan the Terrible, where his favorite forms of torture found inspiration in religious art. One man would shine a light into Russia’s dark ages – Peter the Great who, surprisingly, took as his inspiration Deptford in South London.
Roads to Revolution. He explores how Russia changed from a feudal nation of aristocratic excess to a hotbed of revolution at the beginning of the 20th century and how art moved from being a servant of the state to an agent of its destruction.
Smashing the Mould. The final part examines political revolution and how art was at the forefront of throwing out 1,000 years of royal rule, from its earliest revolutionary days of enthusiasm and optimism when painting died, the poster was king and the machine-made triumphed over the handmade to the dead hand of Socialist Realism. Lecture: "Michael Shermer: The Believing Brain" [11/14/11]
[79:10]
"His thesis is straightforward: We form our beliefs for a variety of subjective, personal, emotional, and psychological reasons in the context of environments created by family, friends, colleagues, culture, and society at large; after forming our beliefs we then defend, justify, and rationalize them with a host of intellectual reasons, cogent arguments, and rational explanations. Beliefs come first, explanations for beliefs follow.
Dr. Shermer also provides the neuroscience behind our beliefs. The brain is a belief engine. From sensory data flowing in through the senses the brain naturally begins to look for and find patterns, and then infuses those patterns with meaning.
The first process Dr. Shermer calls patternicity: the tendency to find meaningful patterns in both meaningful and meaningless data. The second process he calls agenticity: the tendency to infuse patterns with meaning, intention, and agency.
We can’t help believing. Our brains evolved to connect the dots of our world into meaningful patterns that explain why things happen. These meaningful patterns become beliefs.
Once beliefs are formed the brain begins to look for and find confirmatory evidence in support of those beliefs, which adds an emotional boost of further confidence in the beliefs and thereby accelerates the process of reinforcing them, and round and round the process goes in a positive feedback loop of belief confirmation.
Dr. Shermer outlines the numerous cognitive tools our brains engage to reinforce our beliefs as truths and to insure that we are always right. [...]"

"Although the First World War gets less attention than its successor, it was really the watershed event of the 20th century.
This conflict shaped the world that came after to this day. It was the catalyst for the rise of soviet communism in Russia, whose unraveling less than a decade and a half ago continues to affect worldwide diplomacy and economics.
Germany’s defeat provided the opportunity for fascism and Hitler to come to power there, causing the Second World War and its greater destruction.
The defeat of the Ottoman Empire during the First World War and the diplomatic and political morass that followed was the precursor for the reconstitution of Israel and eventually brought the Middle East into center stage today.
This series is based upon the books and encyclopedic knowledge of Professor Hugh
Strachan. It examines every aspect of the war, from its causes to the conduct of the war on and behind the front lines to its aftermath.
In doing so, it covers the diplomatic, political, military and social aspects, each of which played a role in shaping what happened and why. It does not just present the summary facts but goes in depth in its explanations.
For example, instead of simply depicting the spring 1918 German offensive on the western front, it gives detail about how they accomplished it, the attitudes of the troops on each side and the thought processes of the respective high commands. [...]"

Natural gas contained in the crude oil is not being collected, but burnt off in gas flares, burning day and night for decades.
The flaring produces as much greenhouse gases as 18 million cars and emits toxic and carcinogenic substances in the midst of densely populated areas. Corruption is rampant, the security situation is dire, people are dying. But the oil keeps flowing.
Poison Fire follows a team of local activists as they gather video testimonies from communities on the impact of oils spills and gas flaring.

"An Investigation into 9/11, has one central thesis - that the official version of the events surrounding the attacks on 9/11 can not be true. This brand new feature documentary from Italian production company Telemaco explores the latest scientific evidence and reveals dramatic new witness testimony, which directly conflicts with the US Government's account.
Featuring presentations from intellectual heavy weights; Gore Vidal, and Nobel Prize winner Dario
Fo, the film challenges assumptions surrounding the attacks. In the words of the Italian daily newspaper, Il Corriere de da Sera, "What results is a sequence of contradictions, gaps, and omissions of stunning gravity."
The importance of this film can not be overstated. If its thesis is correct, the justification for going to war in Iraq is built on a series of outrageous lies.
On Tuesday 26th February, Europarlementarian Guilietto Chiesa invited his colleagues and the press to attend the screening and debate of the Italian-produced documentary named 'ZERO, an investigation into the events of 9/11'. "Delicious, delectable, soothing and, yes, American. Chocolate was a New World discovery, one of the most sought-after treasures brought back to Europe from the brave new land across the Atlantic.
Cacao, from which chocolate is created, is said to have originated in the Amazon at least 4,000 years ago. The Aztecs were so enthralled with the bean that they attributed its creation to their god Quetzalcoatl who, as the legend goes descended from heaven on a beam of a morning star carrying a cacao tree stolen from paradise. In fact, the Aztecs valued the cacao bean so much that they used it as currency.
The Aztecs also used the cacao beans to prepare a thick, cold, unsweetened drink called chocolatl – a liquid so prestigious that it was served in golden goblets that were thrown away after one use. Christopher Columbus, in 1502, was the first European to run across the beans on his fourth voyage to the New World. [...]"

"While we enjoy the sweet taste of chocolate, the reality is strikingly different for African children.
In 2001 consumers around the world were outraged to discover that child labor and slavery, trafficking, and other abuses existed on cocoa farms in the Ivory Coast, a country that produces nearly half the world’s cocoa. An avalanche of negative publicity and consumer demands for answers and solutions soon followed.
Two members of US Congress, Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa and Representative Eliot Engel of New York, tackled the issue by adding a rider to an agricultural bill proposing a federal system to certify and label chocolate products as slave free.
The measure passed the House of Representatives and created a potential disaster for Cargill, Archer Daniels Midland Mars, Hershey’s, Nestle, Barry Callebaut, Saf-Cacao and other chocolate manufacturers. To avoid legislation that would have forced chocolate companies to label their products with “no child labor” labels (for which many major chocolate manufacturers wouldn’t qualify), the industry fought back and finally agreed to a voluntary protocol to end abusive and forced child labor on cocoa farms by 2005.
The chocolate industry fought back. Ultimately, a compromise was reached to end child labor on Ivory Coast cocoa farms by 2005. In 2005 the cocoa industry failed to comply with the protocol’s terms, and a new deadline for 2008 was established. In 2008 the terms of the protocol were still not met, and yet another deadline for 2010 was set. [...]"

"From award-winning filmmakers Annie Sundberg and Ricki Stern (The Devil Came on Horseback and The Trials of Darryl Hunt) comes the provocative and expertly crafted film, THE END OF AMERICA, based on The New York Times best seller by the same name. In a stunning indictment of sweeping policy changes during the Bush years, author
Naomi Wolf (The Beauty Myth) makes a chilling case that American democracy is under threat.
Investigating parallels between our current situation and the rise of dictators and fascism in once-free societies, Wolf uncovers a number of deeply unsettling similarities—from the use of paramilitary groups and secret prisons to the targeted suspension of the rule of law. With this galvanizing call to arms based on her recent book, she urges regular citizens to take back our legacy of freedom and justice. [...]"

"To summarize in broad terms, instead of resulting in prophylaxis, meaning prevention, all responses to vaccines actually fall under the broad umbrella of anaphylaxis, which means
sensitisation, the OPPOSITE of immunization. In this extremely informative video, fifteen people, including Dr. Viera Scheibner (a PhD researcher), five medical doctors, other researchers, reveal what is really going on in relation to illness and vaccines. Ironically, the important facts come from the orthodox medicine’s own peer-reviewed research.
With so much government and medical promotion of vaccination for prevention of disease, the video is clearly devoted to presenting the other side of the issue that parents and others are not being told. The result is a damning account of the ineffectiveness of vaccines and their often harmful effects. It declares that parents are not being told the truth by the media, the Health Department and the medical establishment, with a medical doctor, Dr. Mark
Donohoe, confessing that “It is a problem for me that I am part of a profession that is systematically lying to people…” [...]"

BBC [08/26/11]

"When veteran broadcaster Alistair Cooke died in 2004 few suspected that he was yet to uncover his greatest story. What happened to his body as it lay in a funeral home would reveal a story of modern day grave robbery and helped smash a body-snatching ring that had made millions of dollars by chopping up and selling-off over 1000 bodies. Dead bodies have become big business.
Each year millions of people’s lives are improved by the use of tissue from the dead. Bodies are used to supply spare parts, and for surgeons to practice on.
Horizon investigates the medical revolution that has created an almost insatiable demand for body parts and uncovers the growing industry and grisly black market that supplies human bodies for a price. (Excerpt from

Unit 731 was the code name of an Imperial Japanese Army unit officially known as the Kempeitai Political Department and Epidemic Prevention Research Laboratory. "The best documentary about modern Brazil available. As you can expect, it covers the most common clichés about Brazil (Amazon, carnival, soccer, beaches and shanti towns), but does that in an almost unbiased way.
The documentary focuses on what is probably most appealing for foreigners and unfortunately leaves out the common people in Brazilian large cities where most of the population lives, the beautiful northeastern coast and the rich European heritage of southern Brazil, but gives a good general idea of how some average Joe lives, which is great.
Just be warned that if you plan to visit Brazil anytime soon, you’ll probably be a little disappointed by not seeing most of the stuff shown here unless you really look for them.
Mostly because Brazil is huge and very different from place to place and secondly because the documentary is more concerned about what is picturesque than with what is common. [...]"

"Waking Life is an American live-action rotoscoped film, directed by Richard
Linklater. The entire film was shot using digital video and then a team of artists using computers drew stylized lines and colors over each frame. The film focuses on the nature of dreams and consciousness. The title, Waking Life, is a reference to the philosopher George Santayana’s maxim: Sanity is a madness put to good uses; waking life is a dream controlled.
Waking Life is about an unnamed young man in a persistent lucid dream-like state. He initially observes and later participates in philosophical discussions of issues such as reality, free will, the relationship of the subject with others, and the meaning of life.
Along the way the film touches on other topics including existentialism, situationist politics,
posthumanity, the film theory of André Bazin, and lucid dreaming itself. [...]"

[81:40]
"As an observatory in space, Hubble is one of the most successful scientific projects of all time, both in terms of scientific output and its immediate public appeal.
Hubble continues to have an enormous impact by exploiting a unique scientific niche where no other instruments can compete. It consistently delivers super-sharp images and clean, uncontaminated spectra over the entire near-infrared and ultraviolet regions of the electromagnetic spectrum. This has opened up new scientific territory and resulted in many paradigm-breaking discoveries.
ESA’s anniversary DVD film Hubble – 15 years of discovery covers all aspects of the Hubble Space Telescope project – a journey through the history, the troubled early life and the ultimate scientific successes of Hubble.
This portrait, directed by Lars Lindberg Christensen, contains large amounts of previously unpublished footage of superb quality. With more than 500,000 copies distributed, this DVD movie is probably the most widely available science documentary ever.
The movie is presented by an ESA scientist, Dr. Robert (Bob) Fosbury, who has himself used Hubble for his own research on many occasions. [...]"
Documentary: "Dark Side of the Moon" [08/01/11]
[41:00] "How could the flag flutter when there’s no wind on the moon? During an interview with Stanley Kubrick’s widow an extraordinary story came to light. She claims Kubrick and other Hollywood producers were recruited to help the U.S. win the high stakes race to the moon.
In order to finance the space program through public funds, the U.S. government needed huge popular support, and that meant they couldn’t afford any expensive public relations failures. Fearing that no live pictures could be transmitted from the first moon landing, President Nixon enlisted the creative efforts of Kubrick, whose 2001: a Space Odyssey (1968) had provided much inspiration, to ensure promotional opportunities wouldn’t be missed.
In return, Kubrick got a special NASA lens to help him shoot Barry Lyndon (1975). A subtle blend of facts, fiction and hypothesis around the first landing on the moon, Dark Side Of The Moon illustrates how the truth can be twisted by the manipulation of images.
With use of ‘hijacked’ archival footage, false documents, real interviews taken out of context or transformed through voice-over or dubbing, staged interviews, as well as, interviews with astronauts like Buzz Aldrin and others, Dark Side Of The Moon navigates the viewer through lies and truth; fact and fiction. [170:00] "No single event in the history of the Second World War has left such a traumatic mark on German consciousness as the catastrophic defeat on the banks of the Volga in 1942/43. On the 60th anniversary of the battle, BROADVIEW TV in association with ZDF portrayed the collapse of the German Sixth Army in a moving three-part documentary which was nominated for the International Emmy Award in 2003.
The Battle of Stalingrad, which cost the lives of at least a million German soldiers, Red Army troops and Soviet civilians, was the bloodiest of the decisive battles in the “war of extermination” which Hitler had unleashed. The annihilation of the German Sixth Army brought home to many Germans with a terrible shock the fact that, despite the propaganda which filled their ears, the war would inevitably be lost in the end. For both Germany and Russia, Stalingrad signified the psychological turning point in World War II. This three-part documentary, employing previously unreleased film footage and brutally frank statements from survivors on both sides, explains exactly how the catastrophe came about and describes the gruesome consequences of the battle for the soldiers and the inhabitants of the city. [120:10] "The
'Land of the Free' punishes or imprisons more of its citizens than any other nation. This collection of testimonials from criminal offenders, family members, and experts on America’s criminal justice system puts a human face on the millions of Americans subjugated by the US Government’s 40 year, one trillion dollar social catastrophe: The War on Drugs; a failed policy underscored by fear, politics, racial prejudice and intolerance in a public atmosphere of out of sight, out of mind.
The United States has only 5% of the world’s population, yet a full 25% of the world’s prisoners. At 2.5 million, the US has more prisoners than even China does with five times the population of the United States. 8 million Americans (1 in every 31) languish under some form of state monitoring known as correctional supervision. On top of that, the security and livelihood of over 13 million more has been forever altered by a felony conviction.
The American use of punishment is so pervasive, and so disproportionate, that even the conservative magazine The Economist declared in 2010, never in the civilized world have so many been locked up for so little.
The project will unfold over a two year period, beginning with the release of this
feature- length documentary and then continuing on with the release of short films and complete interviews from each of the 100 participants in the project, meant to represent the 1 in 100 Americans that are currently sitting behind bars. [...]"

"Tension in the Middle East is mounting again, as political decisions in both the United States and Iran are now being taken by neoconservatives.
Both places have idiots in charge, states colonel Lawrence Wilkerson. And the weapon of mass destruction scenario has been dug up again, this time for Iran. Plans of attack are being made and pre-emptive strikes are being considered. Backlight presents an ominous future view on the Middle East, the Place of Judgment. For Endgame, director Marije Meerman has gathered opinions and attitudes from the US, Israel and Iran concerning Israel’s near future.
Could the possible US withdrawal from Iraq herald the destruction of Israel? And will the pro-Israel stances of the presidential candidates affect their chances? How will any rethinking of American foreign policy impact on the region?
Backlight spoke to: Martin van Creveld (Israeli military historian), Tony Judt (British historian), Brigitte Gabriel (Christian Lebanese
emigre), Lawrence Wilkerson (former chief of staff to Colin Powell), Etgar Keret (Israeli writer), Anoush Ehteshami (British-Iranian political scientist) and Richard Perle (American neoconservative).

The film provides solid evidence for the true reasons behind the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, whose unfolding is described in chilling detail in a document called "Project for the New American Century", published in the year 2,000, that seems to have served as the actual blueprint for such dramatic events. "A documentary adaptation Naomi Klein’s 2007 book, The Shock Doctrine. An investigation of disaster capitalism, based on Naomi Klein’s proposition that neo-liberal capitalism feeds on natural disasters, war and terror to establish its dominance.
Based on breakthrough historical research and four years of on-the-ground reporting in disaster zones, The Shock Doctrine vividly shows how disaster capitalism – the rapid-fire corporate re-engineering of societies still reeling from shock – did not begin with September 11, 2001.
The films traces its origins back fifty years, to the University of Chicago under Milton Friedman, which produced many of the leading neo-conservative and neo-liberal thinkers whose influence is still profound in Washington today.
New, surprising connections are drawn between economic policy, shock and awe warfare and covert CIA-funded experiments in electroshock and sensory deprivation in the 1950s, research that helped write the torture manuals used today in Guantanamo Bay.
The Shock Doctrine follows the application of these ideas through our contemporary history, showing in riveting detail how well-known events of the recent past have been deliberate, active theatres for the shock doctrine, among them: Pinochet’s coup in Chile in 1973, the Falklands War in 1982, the Tiananmen Square Massacre in 1989, the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the Asian Financial crisis in 1997 and Hurricane Mitch in 1998. Screen Excellent.
Gerald Celente has some things to say in this very well done overview of this,
plus the economic fiasco and the deceptions. Description: " College education is big business, and with easy Federal loans, prices for everything from tuition to text books is going through the roof. Once degreed, the majority of college grads are ill-equipped to handle the current marketplace. Many of those who entered college just five years ago simply can’t find work in a 21st century economy that’s imploding on all sides. What college grads are left with are massive loans that can’t be repaid and a room in mom and dad’s basement.
This latest video from the National Inflation Association should be viewed by parents and potential college students alike.
At one time, college was an investment. Today, it’s become, as one interviewee in the documentary suggests, indentured servitude.
For parents and teens looking at colleges, we suggest taking a close look at the amount of money that will need to be spent and borrowed, compared to the benefits that will come out of the degree pursued. Thirty years ago, a bachelor of business would have been a desired degree to hold.

Note: It is a process similar to the US Mortgage fraud, in
scope and design. The 1970's was when the principle of going to college was
still valid in terms of expectations, and it was affordable. Meets the
definition of an ongoing, criminal fraud and conspiracy. Greed. It's the way
of losers and parasites.

Note: People are known for what they do, and no one can change
the reality of that. The film also depicts the ability of women and children to handle their everyday life after a dramatic war experience. Many of them live in tents or in ruins without walls or roofs. They are all in need of money, food, water and electricity. Others have lost family members, or are left with seriously injured children. Can war solve conflicts or create peace? The film follows three children through the war and the period after the ceasefire.

"This documentary focuses on the lives of a few of the children living in that small strip of Palestinian land whose lives were devastated when Israel launched its military attack on their homes, killing many of their parents and relatives, and shattering their already fragile existences. It shows how they have bravely tried to deal with their losses and bereavements and have tried to move on with their lives, and simultaneously how Israel has ensured that this is well near impossible as a result of the childrens literal incarceration in Gaza due to Israels illegal and ongoing siege. The documentary focuses on how they have been struggling to deal with the fallout of their physical injuries as well as their psychological scars which, in all probability, they will never fully recover from. For once, this documentary is an opportunity for the children of Gaza themselves to speak out and to tell their own stories instead of it being told on their behalf by propagandists with a vested interest in how these children are portrayed. "This a documentary film on the role of Joseph Stalin during World War II. The film combines narrative-led documentary segments, interwoven by dramatic re-enactments, with actors representing main political figures of the period.
The documentary carries information newly available to the public, from the Soviet archives, following the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
British historian Laurence Rees did the research compilation and lead writing for the series.
Joseph Stalin – the supreme leader of the Soviet Union – was a tyrant responsible for the death of millions. Yet he also had some unlikely relationships during the Second World War.
Not just with leaders of the great democracies like Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt, but also with Hitler and the Nazis.
For the first time, this ambitious series from award-winning filmmaker Laurence Rees uses exclusive evidence gained from the actual conversations and secret meetings Stalin conducted with Roosevelt, Churchill and Hitler, to dramatically reveal the true natures of the three leaders and how the meetings they had – and the decisions they made – shaped the world today. "An animated interview of John Perkins, author of 'HoodWinked' and 'Confessions Of An Economic
Hitman' .Economist and writer John Perkins was deeply involved in Washington's economic schemes to create a global empire.
John Perkins The Economic Hitman, who pointed toward predatory capitalism as the real cause of the current global financial meltdown. He outlined his former work as an "economic hit man" in which he helped convince third-world governments to accept huge loans for infrastructure projects that they ultimately wouldn't be able to afford. When they couldn't pay back the loans, the US govt./corporations would instead demand cheap oil/resources or political/military favors, he said.
This kind of stratagem has gone global with corporations, rather than governments, controlling human and natural resources around the world, he continued. Morality aside, the exploitative nature of predatory capitalism has left the world in a mess, and the planet is spiraling toward disaster, Perkins argued.
To change the situation, he suggested people work toward building a different economy-- creating their own companies that make things the world actually needs like sustainable energy, and anti-pollution products. Also, consumers can also exert influence over corporations by complaining or not buying their goods or services if they don't approve of their practices, such as making clothes in sweatshops. Further, he believes poverty is one of the root causes of terrorism, and by combating it we could help reduce the problem.
Businessman and author John Perkins discussed his work as a former 'economic hit man.' Perkins said his job was to convince governments of third world countries to accept enormous loans from the World Bank (and other institutions) for large-scale infrastructure projects he knew they could not afford. "Just about anywhere Werner Herzog goes becomes an interesting place, in part because the director shapes it with his distinctively sardonic eye. In Encounters at the End of the World, the ‘Zog heads off to Antarctica, finding there a population of unusual people, hallucinatory underwater life, and penguins.
He doesn’t appear on camera, but the unmistakably Teutonic Herzog voice is very much with us all the time, a baleful tour guide for this blank destination. In the human outposts of Antarctica, Herzog finds the kind of people you might expect would gravitate to the edge of existence–the curious, the oddball, the wanderers who’ve run out of other places to explore.
He finds some deadpan hilarity, especially in filming a communication drill involving people practicing blizzard conditions (they wear buckets over their heads while roped together). The underwater photography (a realm previously explored in Herzog’s The Wild Blue Yonder) is by Henry Kaiser, and it meshes perfectly with the director’s interest in alien eye-scapes. And when Herzog finally does find penguins, his imagination goes to the idea that some penguins go insane, scurrying off into their own suicidal directions. This isn’t as arresting a film as Grizzly Man, but it is an entertaining travelogue spiked with quirky observations. [...]"

Aliens: Season 1" [04/17/11]
8 hours "According to ancient alien theorists,
extraterrestrials with superior knowledge of science and engineering landed on
Earth thousands of years ago, sharing their expertise with early civilizations
and forever changing the course of human history. But how did this concept
develop, and is there any evidence to support it? Ancient alien theory grew
out of the centuries-old idea that life exists on other planets, and that
humans and extraterrestrials have crossed paths before. The theme of
human-alien interaction was thrust into the spotlight in the 1960s, driven by
a wave of UFO sightings and popular films like 2001: A Space Odyssey. The
space program played no small part in this as well: If mankind could travel to
other planets, why couldn’t extraterrestrials visit Earth? In 1968, the
Swiss author Erich von Däniken published Chariots of the Gods?, which became
an immediate bestseller. In it, he put forth his hypothesis that, thousands of
years ago, space travelers from other planets visited Earth, where they taught
humans about technology and influenced ancient religions. He is regarded by
many as the father of ancient alien theory, also known as the ancient
astronaut theory. Most ancient alien theorists, including von Däniken, point
to two types of evidence to support their ideas. The first is ancient
religious texts in which humans witness and interact with gods or other
heavenly beings who descend from the sky—sometimes in vehicles resembling
spaceships—and possess spectacular powers. The second is physical specimens
such as artwork depicting alien-like figures and ancient architectural marvels
like Stonehenge and the pyramids of Egypt. If aliens visited Earth in the
past, could they make an appearance in the future? For ancient alien
theorists, the answer is a resounding yes. They believe that, by sharing their
views with the world, they can help prepare future generations for the
inevitable encounter that awaits them. Note: There is a documentary on TDF

7 hours "Ancient alien theorists like
Erich von Däniken believe that, thousands of years ago, extraterrestrials
landed on Earth, where they were hailed as gods and helped shape human
civilization. But what proof could possibly exist for such an encounter?
Proponents of the theory point to two types of evidence: ancient religious
texts and physical specimens such as cave drawings, stone sculptures and
pyramids. Is your curiosity piqued? Here’s a quick introduction to some of
the most famous examples. The Nazca Lines – Etched into a high plateau in
Peru’s Nazca Desert, a series of ancient designs stretching more than 50
miles has baffled archaeologists for decades. Along with simple lines and
geometric shapes, they include drawings of animals, birds and humans, some
measuring more than 600 feet across. Vimanas – Many Sanskrit epics, which
were written in India more than two millennia ago, contain references to
mythical flying machines called vimanas. The Moai of Easter Island – The
Polynesian island of Easter Island is famous for its “maoi”: the 887 giant
human figures with enormous heads that guard its coastline. Roughly 500 years
old, these monolithic statues stand 13 feet high and weigh 14 tons, but some
are twice as tall and much heavier. Puma Punku – Located in the Bolivian
highlands, Puma Punku is a field of stone ruins scattered with giant, finely
carved blocks. Such precise workmanship on a massive scale would have been
nearly impossible without modern tools and machines, yet the ruins are more
than 1,000 years old. The playlist bellow includes all 10 episodes from the

"The Land of the Free punishes or imprisons more of its citizens than any other nation.
The project will unfold over a two year period, beginning with the release of this feature-length documentary and then continuing on with the release of short films and complete interviews from each of the 100 participants in the project, meant to represent the 1 in 100 Americans that are currently sitting behind bars. "Flight from Death (2003) is a documentary film that investigates the relationship of human violence to fear of death, as related to subconscious influences. The film describes death anxiety as a possible root cause of many human behaviors on a psychological, spiritual, and cultural level. It was directed by Patrick Shen and produced by Greg
Bennick. The film's narration was done by Gabriel Byrne. Flight from Death is a seven-time Best Documentary award-winning film.
The film's purpose is to investigate humankind's relationship with death, and is heavily influenced by the views of cultural anthropologist Ernest Becker. In addition to interviews with a number of contemporary philosophers, psychiatrists and teachers such as Sam Keen, Robert J.
Lifton, Irvin Yalom, Merlyn Mowrey and Daniel Liechty, the film introduces the viewer to a group of social psychologists, who conduct research in support of what they call Terror management theory (terror in this case not being terrorism, but rather emotional and psychological reaction to mortality awareness). Over the last twenty-five years, proponents of terror management theory have conducted over 300 laboratory studies demonstrating that subtle reminders of death on a subconscious level motivates a statistically significant number of subjects to exhibit biased and xenophobic type behaviors, such as gravitating toward those who they perceive as culturally similar to themselves and holding higher negative feelings and judgments toward those they perceive as culturally dissimilar to
themselves [...]"

violence. It's also why the system ALWAYS brings up symbols of death and
dying in order to manipulate less astute people. It is why 9/11 was planned

2, 2011 ... the US administration trotted out a representation of a dead body

it.

From the authors: After we went back and forth with their representatives for months, they finally said they were going to allow 16 journalists into the country to cover the Arirang Mass Games in Pyongyang.
Then, ten days before we were supposed to go, they said, No, nobody can come. Then they said, OK, OK, you can come. But only as tourists. We had no idea what that was supposed to mean. They already knew we were journalists, and over there if you get caught being a journalist when you’re supposed to be a tourist you go to jail.
We don’t like jail. And we’re willing to bet we’d hate jail in North Korea. But we went for it. The first leg of the trip was a flight into northern China.
At the airport, the North Korean consulate took our passports and all of our money, then brought us to a restaurant. We were sitting there with our tour group, and suddenly all the other diners left and these women came out and started singing North Korean nationalist songs.
We were thinking, Look, we were just on a plane for 20 hours. We’re jet-lagged. Can we just go to bed? but this guy with our group who was from the LA Times told us, Everyone in here besides us is secret police. If you don’t act excited then you’re not going to get your visa.
So we got drunk and jumped up on stage and sang songs with the girls. The next day we got our visas. A lot of people we had gone with didn’t get theirs. That was our first hint at just what a freaky, freaky trip we were embarking on. [...]"

Once unleashed they create an extraordinary phenomenon, a gigantic tidal wave, far bigger than any normal tsunami, able to cross oceans and ravage countries on the other side of the world. Only recently have scientists realised the next episode is likely to begin at the Canary Islands, off North Africa, where a wall of water will one day be created which will race across the entire Atlantic ocean at the speed of a jet airliner to devastate the east coast of the United States. America will have been struck by a mega-tsunami. America will have been struck by a mega-tsunami.... [...]"

"Who was Sen. Paul Wellstone? Why would anyone want to remove, let alone kill him? What was at stake? Part One tells the story of who he was, his relationship was to the people of the Iron Range, northern Minnesota - as well as to the nation and world. Wellstone was regarded with love or profound respect, even from the Fox News-watchers who were primed to think he was Enemy Number One. The three fundamental questions in investigating a crime are motive, means, and opportunity. There was something Wellstone was doing, questions he was asking, that he had to be stopped publicly; his death was a warning: don't ask these questions; don't look into this. In looking into this story, we see how honest cops are frozen out, witnesses are intimidated into silence and the public is fearful of thinking such terrible thoughts about its own government...."

[03/05/11]
[46:58] "Empire examines the symbiotic relationship between the movie industry and the military-industrial complex.
War is hell, but for Hollywood it has been a Godsend, providing the perfect dramatic setting against which courageous heroes win the hearts and minds of the movie going public.
The Pentagon recognizes the power of these celluloid dreams and encourages Hollywood to create heroic myths; to rewrite history to suit its own strategy and as a recruiting tool to provide a steady flow of willing young patriots for its wars.
What does Hollywood get out of this ‘deal with the devil’? Access to billions of dollars worth of military kit, from helicopters to aircraft carriers, enabling filmmakers to make bigger and more spectacular battle scenes, which in turn generate more box office revenue. Providing they accept the Pentagon’s advice, even toe the party line and show the US military in a positive light.
So is it a case of art imitating life, or a sinister force using art to influence life and death – and the public perception of both? Empire will examine Hollywood, the Pentagon, and war.

"Invisible Empire: A New World Order Defined"
[03/03/11]
[120:14]
"In the tradition of his first Internet blockbuster, Loose Change, which has had over 100 million visits, Jason Bermas has created yet another outstanding documentary film, Invisible Empire: A New World Order Defined.
This film documents very clearly that some of America’s most powerful elected officials, including all recent presidents, have been part of an international cabal to establish a socialist New World Order that would eradicate national sovereignty and many of the God-given freedoms vouchsafed in the Constitution of the United States, making all citizens mere slaves of the state.
It has an amazing collection of video footage of these leaders stating their unabashed ambitions to establishing this New World Order. It also shows just who is behind this international cabal and their nefarious intentions and true sinister nature. It is deeply troubling and very important.
Again, its relevance to Free Energy technology is two-fold. First, these same forces are behind many of the instances of suppression of breakthrough free energy, which would empower the individual, contrary to the NWO agenda to enslave. Second, the emergence of breakthrough free energy technologies will help unseat these criminals. It is a powerful antidote to the poison being administered.
Another point of relevance is that the film touches on the fact that Al Gore is one of the New World Order insiders helping to accomplish their objectives by politicizing climate change and using it as a reason to impose global carbon taxes; all while personally becoming super wealthy from his various involvements that include serious conflicts of interest. He should not be seen as a hero figure in the free energy movement. [...]"

"The Secret World of Pain"
[03/03/11]
[59:26] "For most of us, pain as a concept is something that we don’t spare a second thought: you stub your toe; it hurts for a bit, then it subsides. But for scientists, the experience of pain makes for fascinating study and an understanding of it can potentially unlock new methods of treatment and pain relief.
Horizon reveals the latest research into pain and the breakthroughs that have been made, through studies on everyone from a woman in London who has felt no pain in her entire life, to a man in the US who cut off his own arm to survive, after it became lodged in a furnace.
Geneticist Dr. John Woods travels the world in search of people who feel pain in strange ways or don’t feel pain at all and believes that the secret of pain lies in our DNA. Indeed, after two years of studying the DNA of three generations of an Italian family who don’t feel extremes of temperature, he discovers the family share a mutation in their genes which blocks the pathway to certain types of pain and thus names the syndrome after them.
Similarly, a woman in London who feels no pain at all (she recalls an early experience where her mother, upon smelling burning flesh, found her kneeling on a radiator and had to tear her off by the skin) describes her relief at finally being able to explain her condition.
Meanwhile, we learn about the significance of early life experiences and their importance in developing our pain pathways. An experiment on the brain activity of premature babies (who have therefore undergone intensive care treatment) compared with full term babies demonstrates a remarkable difference in brain activity, suggesting the premature babies have an increased sensitivity to pain. "Billed as the last in David Attenborough’s series of Life nature documentaries, Life in Cold Blood leaves you hoping that proves not to be the case. For once more, as he has done many times in his distinguished career, Attenborough gently – and unobtrusively – delivers an utterly fascinating insight into the world in which we live.
Life in Cold Blood looks at reptiles and amphibians, bringing into focus a series of creatures very much of all shapes and sizes.
Across the episodes that make up the series, the filmmakers delve into the lives and mannerisms of its subjects with some quite stunning camera work, bringing to our screens things that have quite simply never been seen before.
As much as perhaps we shouldn’t take for granted the heights that Attenborough’s work easily scales, Life in Cold Blood happily matches the standards of his earlier series.
Often genuinely jaw-dropping, and never less than completely absorbing, the DVD set is rounded off with some equally intriguing bonus features that delve into the complex production of the program itself.
If Life in Cold Blood really does bring the Life series to an end, then that’s even more reason to cherish it. Regardless, this is an extraordinary series that’ll make you look at snakes, frogs, crocodiles, and turtles in very different ways. [...]"

"The four videos in this post give a detailed history of the theft of tens of trillions of dollars by Wall Street.
I feel compelled to make a few points. The current fraud actually began before the sale of fraudulent mortgages. In 1994 the Bilderbergers and the Council on Foreign Relations had Bill Clinton and the Democrats and Republicans in the congress and the senate pass NAFTA and the WTO treaties.
These treaties closed 43,000 manufacturing plants and shipped 8.5 million jobs overseas. Another ten million plus jobs are being lost as the economy winds down.
This means that the bankers made fraudulently induced loans because they knew we were going to lose our jobs and be forced to take massive wage cuts.
Their goal was to impoverish Americans and foreclose on our homes so we would become landless slaves in a once proud nation that would be owned by the bankers.
In the third video Michael Hudson says America is headed to a class war between the financial elite and the rest of us. Another banker living in Europe said America is an armed nation and he is worried about the outcome.

"The beauty of America’s Yellowstone
National Park masks one of the rarest and most destructive forces on Earth – a
supervolcano. A two-part BBC factual drama asked: What if Yellowstone erupted?
Amidst the stunning wilderness of America’s most famous National Park, steam and hot water bubble and hiss from thousands of colorful, mineral-encrusted springs and vents. Together with its wildlife and spectacular scenery, these geothermal phenomena make Yellowstone one of the most incredible places on the planet. But America’s most popular tourist attraction is also a time-bomb that could spell disaster for us all.
The hot springs, geysers and bubbling mud pools are all outward manifestations of a huge body of magma residing not far beneath the surface. The land around Yellowstone regularly swells and subsides – each breath raising the ground level by up to a couple of meters. Scientists know one day this bulging, molten lava will burst through the Earth’s crust – it’s just a question of when.
The last super-eruption plunged the world into a freezing, volcanic winter that lasted a decade, and threatened the human population with extinction.[...]"

We actually debated whether to release it at all - though the video shows a civilized and intelligent conversation, and Patrick Geryl is a well-meaning and intellectually honest researcher. For someone certain that the world as we know it will end, Patrick is astonishingly cheerful, friendly and matter-of-fact.
We opted to release the video, with the disclaimer, so that his logic could be made accessible to others. In brief, Patrick is convinced that the sun will undergo a pole reversal in 2012, and that this will induce a similar reversal on Earth. At that point, says Patrick, all hell will break loose.

[02/07/11]
[58:16]
"If ever there was a troubled subject that could be opened up by Louis Theroux’s brilliant brand of Gonzo journalism, then it is the acrimonious dispute between Jewish settlers and the Palestinian people of the West Bank.
Obviously acrimonious doesn’t quite cover it, but there’s enough web space devoted to that subject to stop a squadron of Israeli tanks. Louis’ disarming style of reporting might be cleverly confrontational, but as always his goal is to get to the real stories behind all the religious fanaticism – and he’s good at it.
Anyone who has any interest in the incendiary subject matter will be prepared for the spoutings of the Ultra-Zionists mentioned in the title. Some of them are rather
sombre, but you can tell that even the most reasonable among them (or those conscious enough to understand the power of a television camera) are quietly steeled by a cold and unshakable determination that God has chosen their people.
Of course others work themselves into a frenzy as they talk to Theroux and they seem all the more crazier standing next to Louis as he works his trademark affability to great effect. As questioning methods go, it’s pretty impressive. Not quite as impressive as the arm on some of the Palestinian kids though, one lad picks out Israeli soldiers with ease from at least 50
metres… As the programme progresses, there are a couple of themes that keep coming up. First of all, there are a staggering amount of American accents to be heard amongst the Zionists that Louis encounters, from both the residents and tourists alike.

Abella: Inside The RAND Corporation (Full Length • HD) [02/04/11]
[56:12]
"Cuban-born journalist and author Alex Abella was allowed exclusive access inside the RAND Corporation to view their archives. What he discovered was a plot driven by mad scientists, behaviorists, and generals who were intent on starting world war three and fleecing the American people in the process. Once he was a skeptic on the subject of conspiracy theories and the new world order, but after his work with the RAND Corporation he is now convinced that this top secret think tank has been pulling the strings of American government for at least 60 years.
"We're all the bastard children of RAND and we don't even know it," remarks
Abella, as he charts how RAND started off as an organization centered around building new weapons for the military but ultimately expanded into politics, science, history and economics and was closely allied with the Ford, Rockefeller and Carnegie foundations. RAND's decision in the 50's to re-model the globe towards a new world order changed everything, with the development of "rational choice theory," which turned people from being citizens into consumers, as rights and responsibilities were replaced with choices and people's lives slowly came to be dominated not by integrity or what they stood for, but by what they spent their money on.
RAND's ultimate goal was to have technocrats running every aspect of society in pursuit of a one world government that would be administered under "the rule of reason," a ruthless world where efficiency was king and men were little more than machines, which is why RAND studied the social sciences because they were at a loss to work out how to deal with people and how human beings did not always act in their own predictable self-interests. There is no place for love, empathy or selflessness in the new world order that RAND and the Ford Foundation are working to create, and patriotism and altruism are adversarial to their aims. [...]"

3: Moving Forward" Full
Version 2011
[01/27/11]
[120:41] "In the view of
'The
Movement', the world today has become very detached from the physical world, with techniques of production and distribution that have no relationship to the environment. Our use of a profit based, “growth” driven monetary system has become one of the greatest destroyers of the natural world, not to mention sustainable human values. It is important to understand that the entire global economy requires “cyclical consumption” to operate, which means that money must constantly be circulating. Thus, new goods and services must be constantly introduced regardless of the state of the environment and actual human necessity. This "perpetual" approach has a fatal flaw, for resources as we know it are simply not infinite. Resources are finite and the Earth is essentially a closed system.
The true goal of any economy is to preserve - or "economize" - this is not occurring and cannot occur in a monetary driven system where labor for income requires consumer demand. We actually live in a global "anti-economy" by all rational standards."
Note: Interesting in that it explains the nature of the Orion
system, devoid of life reference, and totally preoccupied with money
sequences, and the effect of this Sequential clusterfuck on this planet's
population. The best investors have no empathy .... more psychopaths and
sociopaths. Basically this film is a plea by more reasonable sequentials to
dump the Orion system, run by dark polarity sequentials, and have
more 'equality' in society. What they don't realize is that the nature
of the game here cannot be changed, because this is a 'special case' planet.
They also don't have a clue that the climate and other factors are going to
make it too challenging to sustain a society here.

"Oil Smoke and Mirrors offers us a sobering critique of our perceived recent history, of our present global circumstances, and of our shared future in light of imminent, under-reported and
mis-represented energy production constraints. Through a series of impressively candid, informed and articulate interviews, this film argues that the bizarre events surrounding the 9/11 attacks, and the equally bizarre prosecution of the so-called war on terror, can be more credibly understood in the wider context of an imminent and critical divergence between available global oil supply and increasing global oil demand.
The picture Oil, Smoke & Mirrors paints is one of a tragically hyper-mediated global-political culture, which, for whatever reason, demonstrably disassociates itself from the values it claims to represent.
While the ideas presented in this film can at first seem daunting, it’s ultimate assertion is that these challenges can indeed be met and perhaps surpassed if, but only if, we can find first the courage to perceive them. [...]"

"A major BBC documentary, Russia sees Jonathan Dimbleby attempt to put across the largest nation on Earth over the course of a 10,000 mile journey. The end result fills up five 60 minute episodes.

At its best, Russia is a fascinating, brilliant piece of documentary television, genuinely unearthing new and interesting things, as well as a plethora of individual stories. Dimbleby is perhaps not the most obvious host, sometimes putting a little bit too much of himself into the mix rather than focusing on the nation he’s there to show us, but on the whole he does a commendable job.

[52:00]
"Mysteriously beautiful fractals are shaking up the world of mathematics and deepening our understanding of nature. You may not know it, but fractals, like the air you breathe, are all around you.
Their irregular, repeating shapes are found in cloud formations and tree limbs, in stalks of broccoli and craggy mountain ranges, even in the rhythm of the human heart.
In this film, we takes viewers on a fascinating quest with a group of maverick mathematicians determined to decipher the rules that govern fractal geometry.
For centuries, fractal-like irregular shapes were considered beyond the boundaries of mathematical understanding. Now, mathematicians have finally begun mapping this uncharted territory.
Their remarkable findings are deepening our understanding of nature and stimulating a new wave of scientific, medical, and artistic innovation stretching from the ecology of the rain forest to fashion design.
The documentary highlights a host of filmmakers, fashion designers, physicians, and researchers who are using fractal geometry to innovate and inspire. [...]"

"Is Seeing Believing?"
[01/03/11]
[58:00]
"Horizon explores the strange and wonderful world of illusions – and reveals the tricks they play on our senses and why they fool us.
We show how easy it is to trick your sense of taste by changing the colors of food and drink, explain how what you see can change what you hear, and see just how unreliable our sense of color can be.
But all this trickery has a serious purpose. It’s helping scientists to create a new understanding of how our senses work – not as individual senses, but connected together.
It holds the intriguing possibility that one sense could be mapped into another. This is what happened to Daniel Kish, who lost his sight as a child.
He is now able to create a vision of the world by clicking his tongue which allows him to echolocate like a bat.
And in a series of MRI scans, scientists are now looking to find out if Daniel’s brain may have actually rewired itself enabling him to use sound to create a visual image of the world. [...]"
Documentary: "Atlantis: The Evidence"
[01/02/11]
[59:00]
"In this Timewatch special, historian Bettany Hughes unravels one of the most intriguing mysteries of all time.
She presents a series of geological, archaeological and historical clues to show that the legend of Atlantis was inspired by a real historical event – the greatest natural disaster of the ancient world.
She is tracing the origins of the Atlantis myth and presenting evidence that the Thera eruption inspired Plato’s account of the mystical land.
2,400 years ago Greek philosopher Plato wrote of an ancient island civilization of unparalleled wealth and splendor, which was struck by earthquakes and floods and was swallowed up by the sea in one grievous day and night.
“But afterwards there occurred violent earthquakes and floods; and in a single day and night of misfortune all your warlike men in a body sank into the earth, and the island of Atlantis in like manner disappeared in the depths of the sea. For which reason the sea in those parts is impassable and impenetrable, because there is a shoal of mud in the way; and this was caused by the subsidence of the island.” (Plato, as translated by Benjamin
Jowett). [...]"

4 hours "Wild Russia is a landmark High Definition series charting a journey across this vast land that stretches from Europe to the Pacific Ocean.
Covering 11 time zones, this huge country contains a wealth of unspoilt natural wildernesses – beyond the huge cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg, a primal world with rough mountain summits, wild rivers and an unmatched flora and fauna reveals itself.
Through unprecedented access we showcase the wild spectacle that is the Russian continent. Across six dramatic episodes we explore this diverse and even exotic country.
Russia is a place of superlatives proving that size does matter. Few countries are home to such extraordinary mammals: the Amur Tiger is the world’s largest cat; the Polar Bear is the world’s largest land predator; massive brown bears scour the rivers in search of salmon.
The Russian skies are home to the world’s largest owl and majestic sea eagles. In the freezing northern waters, walruses and Beluga whales hunt for fish.
It also provides a refuge for some for some incredibly rare species – including the beautiful and elusive Amur Leopard.[...]"

"The War You Don’t See"
[01/01/11]
[95:00] "A powerful and timely investigation into the media’s role in war, tracing the history of embedded and independent reporting from the carnage of World War One to the destruction of Hiroshima, and from the invasion of Vietnam to the current war in Afghanistan and disaster in Iraq.
As weapons and propaganda become even more sophisticated, the nature of war is developing into an electronic battlefield in which journalists play a key role, and civilians are the victims. But who is the real enemy?
John Pilger says in the film: “We journalists… have to be brave enough to defy those who seek our collusion in selling their latest bloody adventure in someone else’s country… That means always challenging the official story, however patriotic that story may appear, however seductive and insidious it is.
For propaganda relies on us in the media to aim its deceptions not at a far away country but at you at home… In this age of endless imperial war, the lives of countless men, women and children depend on the truth or their blood is on us… Those whose job it is to keep the record straight ought to be the voice of people, not power.” [...]"

"Despite being hailed by BBC Scotland as “one of its most ambitious projects ever”, the show has not been without controversy. There have been some claims, on the website of the BBC, that the programme made some errors.
Further, the 10-part series has come under fire over claims that it is too “anglocentric”. The failure to front it with a historian (Neil Oliver is an archaeologist) has also been attacked. A couple of Scottish academic advisers also resigned before some programmes were completed. [...]"

"Congo: White King, Red Rubber, Black Death"
[01/01/11]
[108:00] "Congo: White King, Red Rubber, Black Death describes how King Leopold II of Belgium turned Congo into its private colony between 1885 and 1908.
Under his control, Congo became a gulag labor camp of shocking brutality. Leopold posed as the protector of Africans fleeing Arab slave-traders but, in reality, he carved out an empire based on terror to harvest rubber.
Families were held as hostages, starving to death if the men failed to produce enough wild rubber. Children’s hands were chopped off as punishment for late deliveries.
The Belgian government has denounced this documentary as a “tendentious diatribe” for depicting King Leopold II as the moral forebear of Adolf Hitler, responsible for the death of 10 million people in his rapacious exploitation of the Congo.
Yet, it is agreed today that the first Human Rights movement was spurred by what happened in the Congo.
What the Belgians did in the Congo was forgotten for over 50 years. It’s a shocking, astonishing story. In a way, it’s a horrifying prelude in European history to the Holocaust.
Between 1870 and 1900 the Congo was pillaged – it was valuable as a source of rubber. King Leopold created his own colony in the Congo over which he ruled unchecked.
Peter Bate’s film is a marvelously made reconstruction of those days – it features footage of Congolese villages and explains with actors exactly what happened.
It’s really a memorable film – the painfulness of what is described is counterbalanced by the great skill in the storytelling. [...]"

"A History of Britain"
[01/01/11]
13 hours
"Stretching from the Stone Age to the year 2000, Simon Schama’s Complete History of Britain does not pretend to be a definitive chronicle of the turbulent events which buffeted and shaped the British Isles.
What Schama does do, however, is tell the story in vivid and gripping narrative terms, free of the fustiness of traditional academe, personalizing key historical events by examining the major characters at the center of them.
Not all historians would approve of the history depicted here as shaped principally by the actions of great men and women rather than by more abstract developments, but Schama’s way of telling it is a good deal more enthralling as a result.
A study of the history of the British Isles, each of the 15 episodes allows Schama to examine a particular period and tell of its events in his own style. [...]"

"Alistair Cooke’s America"
[01/01/11]
10 hours"A classic from what now seems like the Golden Age of TV documentaries, Alistair Cooke’s America (America: A Personal History of the United States) was first broadcast in 1972-3 and it remains, along with the contemporary The World at War, an example of how documentaries should be made.
There’s none of the flashy editing, wobbly camera-work, over-intrusive music or costumed actors prancing around in the mode of Simon Schama’s fussy History of Britain for example.
Here there is just scenery, the odd map or illustration and – most importantly – Cooke himself talking directly and unhurriedly to camera. [...]"
